have you ever had an idea for a gaming console of what it could do?
What type of games it would play?


Colours: Jet black and sterling Silver
Shape: Thin rectangle
Genres: all
Graphics: PS3 level
cabailities: Using your thoughts to use it
(that kind of technolgy is not that far away)

I'd make a console with Xbox 360/PS3 graphics and Nintendo games (Smash bros, Mario games, etc). Maybe with a wiimote too.

edit: oh, I wouldn't allow companies to make crappy games, either.

Well, firstly, budget. You'd be surprised how much it costs to make a commercial quality game. Also, some companies set times limits to make their games (eg, EA), so, if they don't get it done within the limit, its getting published anyway. In my opinion, this is incredibly stupid; EA did it with some of their medal of honor games, and look how they turned out (not saying that all are bad). Their is also lack of skill or experience with the game's programming language and/or engine. Also, in a reply to your brain controlled games, its already possible and yes I have seen people playing games like this (cod4 + mind control aiming and shooting = epic pwnage).

As for what console I would make, virtual reality all the way. The console can make you enter a controlled dream like sense in which the game is rendered in your head. You know how you have those dreams where you feel they're real and can 'actually' walk around and do stuff; well kind of like that. Would be awesome but I think I'm looking MANY years into the future for something like this. As for the games, nintendo ftw! And also select favourites from other consoles, graphics doesn't bother me much, but unique art styles and physics processing is a must!

Hmmm... I know that this is cheating a bit and that I would be stealing an idea off someone but I would make the nintoaster. A toaster that can play all nintendo games and can still make toast! It can be voice activated and has a major upgrade to graphics. It can also glow!

Not really... Go to the Escapist forums and there's a guy who actually made the nintoaster only I'm not too sure about the part about all nintendo games... He's still pure genius though!XD

As far as I know, the most they've done with mind controlled games so far is something like space invaders, where you can move the thing either one direction or the other and maybe(?) shoot. From what I remember, this is working using really old technology that basically just senses whether or not a part of your brain is running harder than usual. Basically "if you want to move to the right, solve hard math problems in your head." Eg: the technology you describe is not only not here right now, it's actually very far away. Which is sad, as I'd love to play a game using my brain. =D

Well I saw something on some TV show where they had a game where you are in a maze and you used your mind/thoughts to chose which way to move though the maze was not that long or big

If you think about if the big companys really wanted to make the best game with a bigger budget the games would be very awsome

Christ if there was a mind controlled game I'd probably break it. I always have wwwaaaayyyy too many thoughts going through my head.
