Hello guys!
Glab to be back! The Exam is finally over and the heat of Summer comes with it a long holiday to begin a project.
I am currently working on two projects, one being a Carburising Alloy Steel Phaser Simulator (hehe, anyone interested?). The second is a game programming. As a good gamer, I have to plan in advance each refined detail, this includes composing music as soundtracks. Therefore, I will be closer to Ichogos now than ever before to seek for feedback on my composition.
My first composition is the Main Theme, "The Inquisitor" (The name should suggest that the game is about the Secret/Sacred Inquisition group). The song is still on its way, so Please give feedback and comments.
Reference: Inquisitor in the Medieval time usually refers to the Vatican officials scatter throughout europe to charge anyone (usually priests or royalties) for Heresy and digression of Christiandom. The punnish is usually burning at the stake. So Imagine what the remaining Inquisitors in future time could be doing? (hint: Assaulting the corrupting Vatican...)

Hmmm. Not sure what to think about this one. I read your post in the games section, and based on that, it seems to me that the main theme should sound a little darker. I think the flute/recorder-ish part sounded a little too happy. Maybe replace it with some sort of gemshorn or a mellow and hollow sounding wind instrument. If it going to based around the medieval era, then you'll need to take the stringed off beat parts out, in medieval music, it was mainly the percussion that was off beat, the other instruments played quite linear and on-beat parts. But, if its supposed to be more renaissance, then I can't help you there sorry. Also, themes in games (take zelda for example) have a BIG sound (not necessarily loud or have a lot in them, just have that, wow effect about them) and are quite memorable and recognizable. Don't try and be too crafty with the music, think of a nice little creative phrase, but don't over-do it. Now, that's just my opinion, but off the top of my head, most games tend to follow this rule. Simple, but effective (for main themes that is lol). Other then that, I can see an image creating from this, churches, malice and all that stuff. All in all, its a good start. It just depends on what you are really aiming for.
Kind of off topic, but what programming language and/or engine are you using for this game.

I like it ^^
I think the opening fits well, but then it could almost go J-Poppish haha. Yes. A little too happy if your going for "Secret/Sacred Inquisition group".
Especially when the piano comes in hehe. Very J-Popish.
BUT if the song was played independently, I would like it more haha. And then you don't have to change the melodic part (which is awesome!) to still fit with the scene. I've had to do that before and I felt horrible haha.

Thanks for the suggestion Taemond, (and thanks for checking out my outline of game). I took yours and Kevin's suggestion and added two mini-movements to Inquisitor:
1. The Gothic Sacred mini-Theme Movement
2. The Psalmic Empire mini-Theme Movement
So the Inquisitor becomes the Main theme that contains mini themes of characters (from Inquisitor Faction), His Holiness (Gothic Movement) and Psalmic empire Theme.
I'm not sure if it does blend well together though, what do you reckon?

This is sounding better already lol. The two movements actually fit together quite well in my opinion, its a nice little surprise I say. However, I feel like there should be something more at the ending, instead of the piano fading off, I feel like there should be a big finish with an organ or something like that.

I agree! In my experience, everyone want to have a part in the ending, I've used Choir, Organ, Brass, Strings, Sitar... I'll try to use them in the finale then.
Meanwhile, I was very curious on how to composed Psalmic Theme, and I expand on that, and here is my experiment result. I'm not sure if it soulds Islamic enought though, (for game purpose).
Although this 3D game summer project is an experiment, it is a chance for me to advance myself to another level of experience. Therefore, even if I didn't manage to suceed, I would have gained from it both musical, inspirational, and 3D animational and programmical skills and most importantly, to get to know everyone in Ichigos and exchange ideas together. That I believe is more than an amateur programing composer could ask for.

Very interesting. I don't know any Islamic music, though I have started to study Indian rhythms, which are the very characteristic to that of India. I don't know about the middle-east, though.
Basically, I felt since it's a theme, it needs a recognizable... theme. It can still be in the style, but make sure we know that it's the main melody [of the game]. Another thing, I would be careful with that pattern going up and down with the 5ths; it gets really loud, obnoxious at it doesn feel very tasteful. Basically, make this piece a lot more simplistic-- much of the music from that area are long-chantlike songs, and seem to repeat large sections of these chants.
Have fun with this one-- I cannot help you too much.
