Hello guys,

I'm still new to this section of the forum, nice to meet you all. I am currently on a summer project of making a 3D game.

My main idea is concerning an RPG game following the story of a Secret/Sacred Inquisition group in future time, where the Religion has fallen to corruption and the religious leader tries to eliminates his main opponenents to gain absolute control. Thus, many 'official' inquisitors were trialed or murdered. Only the 'Underground' Inquisition group still remains (under different independent faction, as there are no 'official' inquisitor head remaining).

The goal of each inquisition group is to eliminate the religious leader (His Holyness Sancrimus VIII). (The name is just random idea, so please do suggest if you have any idea). [noted that I will try not to pin point into Christianality in case if any christian would become angry at me, but I'm just borrowing the structure of this 'neo-Sanctus' from Roman Religious System, and since I've learnt little Latin, I'll be putting it to usage].

Thus, our main character, as a young new Inquisitor, under the guidiance of the hidden legendary Elder Inquisitor, learns spells, gain experience, enhance Chanting, engage reformantion of long lost virtues... to finally form a strong enough faction, hopefully to defy his holiness?

The idea is still vague and need alot of ideas/ details and subplots/ character development. I know you guys are much more experience and would definately have alot of ideas, please do suggest them.

Thank you very much, may the corrupted blessing his holiness be with you.

P.S. I am also currently composing Original Soundtrack in music forum of ichigos (Main theme "The Inquisitor") do check it out and give feedback too.

The story focuses too heavily on one religion. While that is the main subject, it doesn't allow to much parallel development. Injecting a third faction that's external to religious topics — any form of atheism would work — would make for a great deal of development. We have a live demonstration of this just by reviewing the three major religions of the world and their histories.

In addition, twisting the protagonist's viewpoint on his believes throughout the entire story would add suspense and intrigue to the plot. This would make for an excellent device, and also could open up many doors for your combat system.

Perhaps having a character that appears completely normal, but is actually a god/angel of sorts be in the party list would be another good addition.

Ultimately, though, there's not enough detail to really comment about your plot, and I'm not too sure how far you want to reveal the plot for fear of someone stealing it. Just remember that all plots should be formed like a dodecahedron. Twelve characters with five viewpoints each, with the sharing point's wall being a relationship between the characters. It's really quite the nifty design, as it isolates two groups with parties of six each, where there's one character from each side that's related to one another.

Wow. Firstly I like your picture its really cute.
When you said that religious leader tries to eliminate his main opponenents to gain absolute control unfortunatly the first thing that came to mind was Hitler. I'm not saying its a bad idea to use, in fact it might add interest to the game, just a random add in.
Another good thing, I think, is to add a character who stirs things up a little. But they shouldn't be on the opposing side(s).
Otherwise the game sounds intresting and I think as a colouring effect you shoud mainly use dark colours.

A question though, if you were to be the player who would you play as? (The main character or multiple people?)

Hitler came to my mind too. Try to make a person with Hitler's personality only a tad different and a bit more twisted.

If you need any atheist remarks PM me and we can talk. I also know quite a bit about the Bible. (it's what turned me atheist).

Never under any circumstances make an obvious plot twist and if you are(which would be stupid) then create tension or a really good build up. As M said the dodecahedron thing would be best.

Good Luck!

Hmm... sounds interesting! Maybe I'm a bit late but... nevermind...
Maybe you should add a rivale inquisition group (really bad guys) who are in conflict with the main chara's (mc) inqui group and the leader of this other group (who calls himself a "Savior") appears to be a childhood friend of the mc but now he (maybe I shall call him Kratos) tries to kill the mc (the reason can be revealed (whatever it is... still have no idea) after K. sacrifies himself to rescue the mc and after this event you can find some kind of document in his house/hideout "if" you go there... so it's not directly implemented in the main story) but the mc don't want to kill him.
And maybe you need an elite group of his holyness with 7 or 13 members (they can be angels or something like that) who chases the mc's group. The one with the highest number is also the strongest and he is a member (an atheist; only able to use close combat skills in your party; can use holy skills like spells with his true form) of the mc's party.

Well that's it (I hope my idea isn't a piece of junk but I guess it is...)
And don't forget to show your work when it's done!
