I think its a great game. Can't wait 'till Halo 2 comes out. Best FPS I've ever played IMHO. I prefer the Xbox over the mouse and keyboard, mainly 'coz of split screen. Can't be bothered to go to LAN or play online.

Is Halo 2 going to be 4 player co-op? Sorry but I've looked everywhere and can't seem to find a straight answer.

I liked it, it was the first thing in my xbox when I got it & didnt come out for about 5 or 6 months, hopefully Halo 2 will achieve a similar thing, if I'm done with Fable by then of course

Amen Harv. I'm pretty much a fan of both games, but in my opinion in no way is Halo overrated. Good graphics, fun for multiplayer, smart AI and pinpoint commands.

Can't wait for Halo 2.

but if it is the limited isn't it true that you don't get the online versen with it

you get all the features you get with the original, only it has a metal case...and a dvd with the making and deleted scenes and stuff

I asked my friend if he reserved his copy of Halo 2: LCE

and he said he'd just wait and buy it when it came out...lol, he's such a dumbass...you HAVE to reserve the LCE copy...duh...and you can't reserve IT anymore, that stopped a few weeks ago... I got mine reserved and i'm staying out of school all day Tuesday to play it...YaY!

Meh, don't worry I'm not going to buy it till the price goes down. That's what I did with Halo. I bought it at thirty bucks. It'll get down eventually.

Well well, its finally out today. Anyone got it and played it yet?

well its not out til thursday here, as Harv said, but i went into a local games store and they had it set up to try. and it is absolutely amazing....the staff literally had to kick me out of the shop to stop me playing it hehe. cant wait til thursday.

I just spent the last three and a half hours playing Halo 2 multiplayer after going to get the game at midnight with a friend (which makes it about 6:00 AM considering the time spent waiting in line). I played the game with three guys I met in the Halo line-up and I had a really good time. I never really played the first one too much so many people may view the game differently but even though I enjoyed it, I don't understand what all the hype is about. The game plays like it's half way between a strategic FPS like counterstrike and an arcade FPS like Timesplitters 2. While it's cool (and I'm especially fond of the energy sword) I haven't really seen anything that's blown my mind. However, I think I might have had more fun if I was playing with friends instead of strangers who had given me a ride home.

One thing that really disappointed me is the graphics. They just didn't do much for me in multiplayer. It was all pretty good but there were noticeable problems with the drawing of certain objects, there would quite often be a clipping like effect. It's still a beautiful game but I can certainly think of a game that looks better (Chronicles of Riddick to name one).

As I've said, I haven't gone very deep into the game yet. Just some deathmatch and CTF so far and only two maps so I'm not judging it yet but it seems to be about the same level as the original Halo. Very good but overrated.

Hopefully I'll soon have some single player impressions.

Edit: I should mention that the vehicles are extremely fun to comandeer and the highlight of my play experience is probably repeatedly running down other players as they tried to return my team's flag to their base. Well, maybe the highlight was the sword killing spree but the vehicles were very fun.

I think Halo fans won't be dissapointed. I would of bought the game just for it's story, which I think is the best of any game I'v played (exept for rpg's).

The multiplayer is great too, especially if you have online or if you playing with 6 or more people. I think alot of the levels are a bit too big for just 4 people, and it can get annoying looking for someone to kill. I didn't like some of the new weapons though. They just don't seem good as alot of the old ones, execpt for the battle rifle, which is awesome.

Overall, a stellar game. I can't wait to get further in story mode. :drool:

Just got back from playing a bunch of single player and I'm very impressed overall. The game's a lot of fun. It can seem a little disorienting at times but it's just as easily called immersive. My biggest problem with the game is still its graphics though. Overall it's a beautiful game but there are tons of places where textures don't get drawn in over the bump maps right away of parts of a wall will be missing for a second. It's not horrible but it seems that it could have been done better.

those "cimematics" are just butt ugly i think they should have atleast done cgi or something... they were just hidious looking

this post must be really old cause halo 2 has been out for almost a month but even though halo 2 is out, i still like halo 1 and i play it once every so often to play "assault on the control room" because it&#39;s so fun and because there aren&#39;t too many fun levels on halo 2 and halo 2 is a lot better for it&#39;s multi player matches and the new multiplayer matches make halo 1 multi player matches completely obselete in many ways as halo 2 has so much more action and more intense 1v1 matches even&#33; halo is basically gone but not forgotten.

The flood honestly scare the crap out of me.

Unless you shoot off their arms. Then all they do is follow you around and sniff you. :D

dual wielding combos (good ones)

dual smg&#39;s-awesome for unshielded foes and quickly killing anyone

pistol and smg-smg takes out shield and pistol takes headshot

plasma pistol and magnum- plasma charge takes out shield, headshot with magnum (2 shot kill, can&#39;t beat it)

well good for you, you don&#39;t like reloading so you chose a gun that overloads instead, that is no different if you think of it and it takes the same amount of time unless you&#39;re dual wielding SMG&#39;s

wow, then you&#39;d have 10 shots off...wait....10 shots off...wait.....BORING, just kill them with a giant SMG spray and then reload after they&#39;re dead, makes more sense to me and the noise from the SMG is much more interesting, human weapons rule&#33;&#33;&#33;

Ya know, it seems I do better with one gun then duel weilding. I wonder why. And sword w/ rocket launcher all the way.

when you only have 1 gun, it reloads faster and it has generally better accuracy but when you have 2, it deals out more damage faster so it&#39;s all what you like when chhosing betweendual wielding or not

Ohh and I think the plasma pistol and the SMG works better for me compared to your plasma pistol and magnum. It doesn&#39;t take much of a burst to finish them with the SMG, especially at close range.

No. Plasma Pistem and the Magnum. Take out shields with Plasma, shoot in area around the head and boom. 2 shots and they are dead. Simple kill for duel.

I didn&#39;t specifically say headshot. Just in the general area around the head.

another good combo is the plasma rifle and smg, this is because the plasma pistol is awesome to take out shields and smg can pound in some fast killing rounds at the same time.

also, when it reloads, it reloads faster then any 2 human gun combo because the only gun he has to reload is the smg and the plasma rifle just cools down as he reloads it so both guns are reloaded super fast compared to waiting for 2 smg&#39;s to reload

Dual needlers are good. A bit too good, actually. I always get iced by them.

i dont like dual needlers, whenever i use em they kill me then a second later they die from the neddle explosions but i never actually get a kill without dieing, if anything i&#39;d just mix a needler with a smg or somtthin
