Recently, a new type of spammer has been bugging the hell out of the admin team here at Ichigo's. They all posts something like this:


Hi, I'm Andy Moquin from Buffalo, New York.

I'm a lifelong musician and music collector, primarily in rock, blues, and jazz. I recently dove into the world of classical music and it's as diverse a world as I hoped and expected. I'm optimistic about increasing my meager classical knowledge and maybe sharing my own areas of semi-expertise with you all. Unfortunately my computer knowledge probably rivals that of your favorite pet.

Another example of a spambot that's been going around recently is this thread:

When you see messages similar to these, please report them right away. These are spammers/spambots and need to be banned ASAP. They spam through links in their signature and profile. Thank you all for helping keeping Ichigo's a clean place.

I will report something like that if I see it but how is that spam? What did they do? Just asking.

They used to have a signature with links to sites where stuff is being sold. That's spam.

For instance, there have been links to CSI, 24, and Star Trek Box sets on amazon.com with a minor advertisement phrases attached, such as "Box set of CSI (www.google.com) on sale, most awesome show". Also their posts are sometimes not clear and rapid in succession; often posted inside of unrelated forums.

When in doubt, report the post anyways. The staff here really does appreciate it.
