Otaku are stupid people who should get a life instead of being overly obsessed by something like anime. They disgust me.

In case you don't know, the word Otaku actually is a very negative word and it means something like "overly obsessed fanboy"

Fanboys are annoying, but otaku are the worst, especially when they are proud of the fact that they are one.

No, otaku is the Japanese word for someone who's overly obsessed with something, could be anything. Anime-otaku, car-otaku, you name it =P

I don't mind people who are obsessive with anime, but the annoying thing about them is that they try to spread it.

I find the fact that anime fans take an offensive word from the Japanese language, then turn it into a term to address anime fans kind of funny. I think obsessive otaku are annoying, but really, maybe they're like that because they haven't yet found another reason to live yet? We all have to have something to hold onto, and maybe anime/manga is the only thing that otaku have.

Angelic, you seem to have such a problem with fanboys. You stereotype them all as people who are annoying and constantly talk about their favorite anime. I find nothing wrong with an obsession over something, as long as its not ruining their lives, or bothering anyone else's. And it happens that not all fanboys or fangirls rave on to others about their favorite anime everywhere everday, but I'm sure they will defend it if present by people who hate it.

Let me enlighten you, just because your a fanboy or a fangirl does not make you a retard, nor does it make one stupid (ignorant is probaly the word your looking for, and they aren't always that either). And just because your a fanboy or a fangirl does not mean you'll talk about the anime over and over and over. So, please go easy on these people (no, I'm not a fanboy), I believe they don't deserve to be flamed until they actually do something stupid, aside from your view of liking an anime a lot. That's not just for anime fanboys, but otaku's as well.

That comment was a bit sarcastic actually =P also a way of saying that a lot of people, and especially people who like eva, think the series is very deep and stuff (I think it's pretty shallow actually). I do think there are people on this forum who heavily overrate Eva but, that's their choice and not mine to make.

Perhaps we have different defenitions of fanboy. I consider a fanboy one extremely obssesed with an anime or something. It would appear you consider one someone who likes it a lot AND his annoying. In any case, I do know what I'm talking about. People aren't stupid because they are annoying. You seem to imply that whatever type of person you dislike, they are stupid.

As always? You attack people all the time, stop complaining when people get offended and say something. If you want for people to stop being offended, then stop saying offensive things. Most anime fanboys and fangirls admit that they are "anime freaks" or "anime nerds" or something like that, so I think they do know what the word Otaku stands for. They're just too proud of it, I think.

Also, let's not start a personal fight here. This is a topic about a group of people, so it shouldn't be ruined because two peoples' opinions cross eachother. :)

Am I leaving Ichigos? I don't know, maybe I should, at the moment it's causing me more trouble than what I gain from it, I don't have the feeling anything I do lately is appreciated by the members. I try to get the RP going by asking for help and people say it's my fault it didn't work out, I came with the idea of unbanning some people which resulted in that little #$#@%$#@$ Haruno being an arse everywhere. I came with the idea of getting a new mod, which was Excel and from alot of members there was a lot of negative reactions even before she could even prove herself.

Heh. I&#39;m not really an "otaku" ... I mean, I guess I&#39;m as bad as one when it comes to anime obsession, but I like other stuff too, like harry potter and lord of the rings and stuff. And I don&#39;t force/spread the obsession onto everyone else. I just seek out people who already like it ^.^x

Not all of them are retards...some of them can be intelligent, and they can&#39;t all be very bad. i didn&#39;t mean otaku are stupid, just that people who don&#39;t know its meaning and usage toss it around and wear it like a badge, as if it denotes their devotion to anime are. an otaku is an obsessive outcast. heck, we use the term "freak" when joking around, but you do not call someone an otaku to joke around. it&#39;s more like "loser".

as for me, I acually don&#39;t watch enough anime to even be much of a fan of it anymore, but I do read a good amount of manga.
