Hello my fellow composing people.

I have been working on a suite of music from the films of Hayao and Goro Miyazaki. The reason this suite is different from the other pieces of music from their films that I was able to find is this: mine is arranged for a full orchestra, and not just the piano. The larger pieces have twenty-four staves of music, including vocals (even on the pieces that originally had none. The reason for this is that I was asked to write the suite by my choral director, who wanted words). The lyrics are included in the sheet music (something else I rarely see when looking for music on the Internet), as well as reasonably accurate tempo and other dynamic markings. This is just a heads up reminder, the pieces won't be finished for a while yet.

There are several things that are giving me problems. The first is instrumental range. I'm a pianist, and a tenor, so I know the ranges for those instruments, but for everything else, I'm just guessing. If you brilliant people out there could respond to this thread with the ranges of the following instruments as they appear on the piano keyboard, that would be great.

The instruments are:
Piccolo
Flute
Soprano recorder
Descant recorder
Alto recorder
Ocarina
Oboe
Bassoon
French horn
Cornett
Trombone
Tuba
Violin
Viola
Cello
Contra(double) Bass
Harp
Soprano voice
Alto voice
Bass voice
Timpani

Also, could someone out there actually come up with the original intro and interlude from "The Promise Of The World" from "Howl's Moving Castle?"
I can't seem to find the right notes by ear. I'm also looking for English lyrics to "Teru's Song" from "Tales from Earthsea", as well as for "Song of Time" from the same movie. Which brings me to the actual song list:

From "Princess Mononoke":
Journey to the West
Young Man From the East
Will to Live
Mononoke Hime (English)
Ashitaka and San
The Legend of Ashitaka

From "Spirited Away":
Day of the River
Reprise
Always With Me

From "Howl's Moving Castle":
The Merry-Go-Round of Life
The Promise of the World

From "Tales from Earthsea":
Teru's Song
Song of Time

I hope to add Nausicaä-Requiem, Marco and Gina, The Sixth Station, and something from Laputa: Castle in the Sky to the suite as I go along.

Which brings me to my final point. I am very bad at transcribing by ear. I need sheet music to start from. If you can link me to a site where I can find copies of the last four pieces I mentioned, I will be eternally grateful.

Thanks for reading. I'll post the pieces when they're finished.

I'm pretty sure you should just look in the Sheet Music Requests forum under Studio Ghibli. Just a heads up: most of us here won't really care about this until you post something concrete for us to listen to.
