I want to work on a medley about Anime and video games. I haven't been listening to a wide array of anime music for a while now. So I need your help. The genre will be trance. Pick a song (I highly recommend a song with lyrics) that you like. I may or may not do all the requests. Anything that stands out goes in. It would be nice if you can give me the chord progression to save me time, but you don't have to if you cant. Also post if you know any songs that will overlap well (such as my caramelldansen houki boshi mix) or transition well.

Mods please move this to the Composition forums

Listen to pretty much any Eureka Seven song :]
Listen to Trance Ruined or Tiger Track.

Thanks. I'll take a listen when I have time. I've been downloading random music and listening to them. The purpose of doing this is so I can match up songs that sound familiar (either chord progressions or melodies)[for use as transitions or overlap mix]. Basically I'm burning them into my brain's "music database" lol.

Ok I need help finding a particular song. I'm looking for a song that has something like Fmaj7, Gmaj, Emin7, and Amin. Don't use the ones below because it's already has been used in other medleys/my medley.

God Knows - Suzumiya Haruhi
Airman ga Taosenai - megaman 2
Omoide wa Okkusenman - megaman 2
Star Rise - Bamboo Blade

Ok I need help finding a particular song. I'm looking for a song that starts with maj7 (usually with a chord progression of VI7, VII, v7, i...). Don't use the ones below because it's already has been used in other medleys.

God Knows - Suzumiya Haruhi
Airman ga Taosenai - megaman 2
Omoide wa Okkusenman - megaman 2
Star Rise - Bamboo Blade

The progression you used seems awkward...but at any rate, try some good old Nana-sama tunes. Gimmick Game (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HMUUTXNabg), Astrogation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s--NGS7uPc)

Forget about the progression. It appears I was wrong about the whole subject on roman numeral chord progressions. I thought I knew (I took music theory I with a music professor), but I didn't as the folks from another forum said it was totally wrong:heh: All I can say is it needs to be something like Fmaj7, Gmaj, Emin7, Am, but it isn't limited to A minor, it can be in any key.

That said, thanks! :D I really liked Astrogation. I'm definately using that.

Sorry to bother you again but do you know any songs that has a progression of Amin, Fmaj, Gmaj? Thanks again.

Edit: I really don't like lyrics that are monochromatic (singing the same pitch repeatedly, and it isn't just rap) in the case of a trance medley. I need something that flows, something that's melodic. In other words if it were transcribed for piano, you wouldn't want to strike the same key over and over again. Just thought I'd get this out of the way first.

Would any music by TЁЯRA suffice? A lot of their stuff is used for DDR, Beatmania, Guitar Freaks and such. Some of my favorites are:
Mugen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3JuIlBuCQs)
DoLL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JipN1Prbpd8&feature=related)
Stars (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiUkHZsZ-Qs&feature=related)
They've got quite a few.

You can also check out this song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHzFArRFNNI) lol.

F G e a is probably in A aeolian (C major). It'd be IV-V-iii-vi (which is pretty standard). A lotttt of j-pop and anisongs use this progression. For trance, go check out EXIT TRANCE (http://jpzrecords.blogspot.com/2009/08/speed-anime-mster-anison-master.html), if you haven't heard of it already.
