This might be the wrong place for it. Sorry.:heh:
I'm trying to upload my first song onto Ichigos and I can't do anything.
I have 3 questions:
1. Where do you find the midi (getting it from finale)?
2. How do you upload the mus file?
3. How do you know if the mus file is zipped?
Help:cry:

NOTE: Any Finale file made from Garritan/VST sounds (I believe this includes Finale 2005) will not be heard with VST sounds if put into a .mid; instead, it will use the typical MIDI sounds.
1) Go to File > Save As. Near the bottom of the window, switch "Save as type: Finale Notation File (*.mus)" to "Save as type: MIDI file (*.mid)". Choose where you want to save it.
2) The .mus must be in a .zip file when you browse for it. To do this, go to the desktop. Right-click where there is no file, go to "New", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". Give a name to this folder, and insert the .mus file into this folder. Now you can submit it to Ichigo's.
3) The .mus must be in a "Compressed (zipped) Folder" (step 2).

it won't let me change it to a midi.
Which Finale program are you using (program and year, please)? Describe the problem further: is it not letting you save to a .mid when you switch the extension or something else?

Ok. I'm using Finale Notepad 2007. I did as you said. I opened the document. Then I clicked save as. Now when I go to change the save as type, it'll only let me save it as a .mus file, or it puts it into all files.

Finale Notepad 2007 does not come with .mid saving; if you want to save as .mid, you'll have to purchase Finale Notepad 2009 (which I believe is $19.95) or a higher-end Finalemusic product (Printmusic is usually around $50, Allegro is around $90, Finale is $400-600ish). There (might) be a 30-day trial that you can download for either of these (remember that if you're using a 2007 file, you have to get a program that was made during the year 2007 or later) for Notepad, Printmusic, or Allegro, but for long term use, you'll want to buy one of them.

These are the 30-day demos, though it says on the the page that they do not save files.

Here you can download the full version of notepad, which can save files for 30 days (until the trial time expires and you have to buy the registration code)
