I'm hearing many things in the piece. Firstly it is lovely. Everything seems to flow pretty well. I don't know what piano you are using for recording (be it digital or acoustic) but it sounds to me that its velocity sensitivity is kind of suck. It could just be me, but I hear random spikes the dynamics that seem almost out of place. Of course my headphones could be playing tricks on me. On the whole the strings blend in very well with the piece. The criticism that I can offer is very little. I don't have perfect pitch so I can't start belting theory at you. Do continue composing though because I hear good things already and look forward to hearing more.

:heh: Sorry that my criticism wasn't better, I do what I can. ^.^

thanks :) i use a midi controller keyboard and the software Reason to record. and yeah the keys are very light compared to my piano, so i need to focus more on how hard i hit them i think haha.

River of Doubt is VERY beautiful. Beautiful chords and playing. Just those velocity spikes. Oh. MELODY! You so need a melody for a piece like this. Listen to Joe Hisaishi's "Sixth Station (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMCFsPwzIs4)". Your piece has magic that that one. You need something for the listener to connect to. Then, I think you could take people to the stars :)

sixth station is really nice, i havent watched spirited away in so long i forgot about it, i love hisaishi. but yeah i definitely need to work on river of doubt, to be honest it was just a one take improv piece. i just played it, recorded it then layered some strings on top. i find it hard to find time/focus to write out and structure things but yeah i plan to work on it. i live in perth too by the way :)
