Well hi there. ^_^
I have recently discovered the wonder that is Grenadier.
Um, it's not just about the content either... :heh:
ANYWHO!

I want to arrange the Kohaku tune that plays at the beginning of the Anime as I have been unable to find a MIDI version of the darned thing anywhere.
I have a small start, about 10 measures worth of 4 separate channels, but DAMN this stuff is hard to write by ear! :P
Anywho, as much experience I have in arranging sheet music and MIDI's I have a terrible time arranging drum tracks which is why I ask two things.

#1. Is there anyone out there who can accurately prepare a drum track based off of this tune?

#2. If anyone else has any kind of constructive input, will you please give it?

Thanks for reading this thread~!!!

Refer to my guide on transcribing here (http://forums.ichigos.com/showthread.php?t=14654). Since you're having trouble with rhythm, read the paragraph "transcribing for note duration." Can you PM me the mp3 for both the vocal and off vocal tracks?

I got further into trying to transcribe the piece and realized...

This stuff is messy... @_@

I'm officially outta luck as far as writing this darned thing... perhaps I'll put a request in?

Anywho, thank you for the advice, I am quite comfortable when it comes to tempo and "music theory" its all a matter of keeping things organized I suppose.

I do not have individual audio and lyric tracks, all I've got is the MP3 that I ripped from the youtube video above.

I should really follow your advice about doing one track at a time... matter of fact, thats exactly what I'll do, I appreciate the advice! ^_^

Stop! Before you strain your ears any further, I highly recommend you get yourself a high quality mp3 first. Never transcribe off of youtube or you'll regret it for putting in so much unnecessary effort. The album contains both the vocal version and the karaoke/off vocal/instrumental version. Use the instrumental version to transcribe the drum track since there's no vocals in the way. Good luck with your transcription. We don't get too many midi transcriptions for anime.
