Get your picks ready for a heavy metal ride of doom...

Brutal Legend is a third person adventure created by Tim Schafer, creator of Day of the Tentacle, Psyconauts, Full Throtle and Grim Fandango. Tim Schafer is also the founder of Double Fine productions after working at Lucas Arts for a decade.

You play as Eddie Riggs, a roadie, who finds himself in a fantasy world of heavy metal. You obtain many weapons in your travels such as: a broad axe called "The Separator", his Flying V guitar "Clementine" from his own world which has the ability to cast magic spells in the heavy metal world, and a hot rod that Eddie builds called "The Deuce", a.k.a. "The Druid Plow"

Fight against the various beasts of mythology, befriend other roadies and riff your way out of troubles. This is Brutal Legend the best game on 360 yet!(besides Bioshock)

Please telll me what you think of this game... (Picture of Tim Schafer, below)

I won't know till I play it, since I haven't seen much of it. I've been pretty underwhelmed from what I have seen, though. Looks like it might turn out to be pretty overrated. Then again, I haven't seen much, and I can't really see Tim making a bad game, so we'll see when it comes out. I'm more of a gameplay > atmosphere person, though, while Tim seems to be the opposite. I thought Psychonauts was cute and quirky, for example, but hardly amazing, as many people seemed to think. I'll take Mario's perfect platforming over Psychonaut's weird atmosphere any day of the week.

I think I might end up feeling the same way about BL when it comes out! = \

Yay! I loved Psyconauts, Grim Fandango and Day of the tentacle(even though I didn't really get halfway because my brother rented it and had to give it back...). Has anyone seen his CV for LucasArts? It's kinda weird... I'll look it up and try to get it.

Psychonauts and Brütal Legend mastermind Tim Schafer is celebrating 20 years in the videogame industry with a quick look back at some of the troubles he had breaking in, along with the unique application that eventually landed him inside the hallowed halls of Lucasfilm.

Life is good when you're Tim Schafer. Fame, fortune, fast cars and easy women, all there for the taking. But it wasn't always like that. In fact, as Schafer explains in a Double Fine Action News post marking the two-decade anniversary of his entry into the industry, he faced his fair share of rejection in the late 80s and now he's going to share those hard times with you.

"I've decided to put up some historical documents so that you can all laugh at how unqualified I was for this job, how lucky I was to get it, and how screwed I would have been if I hadn't," he wrote. "Also, I hope it encourages you job-hunters out there. If I can get a job in the games industry, ANYBODY can. (Not at my company of course. I would never hire somebody as unqualified as I was!)"

Among the companies that turned down Schafer's advances were Atari and Hewlett Packard, and when he finally got a telephone interview with Lucasfilm he blew it with a gaffe that was 100 percent pure facepalm. Convinced that he had nothing to lose, he submitted a memorably unusual formal application and ultimately got the job. The rest, as they say, is history.

It's a fun read and while I don't believe for a second that Schafer is quite as wildly unqualified as he claims to be, it's a little bit inspirational, too. Schafer has one other piece of advice for today's job-hunters, however. "Don't do what I did," he said. "It only worked in the 80s!"

I have it and I'm freaking love it. I'm already about 33% complete. ^.^

Also: It's not nearly as overhyped as Fable or Fable II were.

Played the demo and laughed at every moment. I would've gotten it if not for an incomplete game (Cross Edge) and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, God of War 3 and Final Fantasy XIII, which I am planning to get after I'm done with Cross Edge and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. And since I'm such a slowpoke by the time I'm done with those two the other two would've been out.

Alright, played it. Good game, but not amazing. 8.5ish, for me.
Still, a lot better than I thought it'd be, and some of the humor is actually funny. =D
