Decided to create a threat of Drawings and sketches!

I will start with the woman nude again and some others old I did that are uploaded.

A Dog:

A rough sketch from the movie The Young Sherlock Holmes. I was working a few sketches from Scenes of that movie for a project I have to do about 40 frames of that movie. For storyboard class in my college.

Same sketch with the background added (yes, they looks like the harry potter people, lol).

A dress drawing. No shading added. The pic is bad quality because I took it with the webcam. X_X

Good to see some of your stuff again! The "dress drawing" looks pretty good so far, can't wait to see it with shading:D

P.S. Get a scanner

Whoa, I like the dress.

Nyu001
October 15th, 2009, 11:01 pm
Thanks.

I don't know when I am going to get a scanner. Probably in a few years if I will have the urge to use it for something important that require it.

Here is another one.

Update:

Frames finished:

And an unfinished drawing I left in the air:

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r153/Nyu001/Tashdrawingofamazingpic.jpg

Edit: Yeah, I know the lips and nose are horrible. They were done without attention and in a single take. Will fix them later.

Woah, lotta frames lol. Would love to see a close up picture :D

Nyu001
November 13th, 2009, 08:32 pm
If I get them back from my teacher, I will get a closer pic of them. Now I am doing another storyboard that actually skip a lot of frames from the real movie because I can't fit them in the foam board I have. Is going to be less than 20 frames.

This is my first attempt drawing digitally in a pen tablet:

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r153/Nyu001/Pretty-woman-drawing.jpg

I keep having many problems drawing on the tablet. I hope I can improve fast and make smooth long curves and lines. I am not fond with this drawing but oh well, for a start I guess is not so mediocre. Any one has any recommendation how can I improve with a graphic tablet? Or if there is a good way to fix those bad lines? Apart of keep trying and practicing. The drawing is not final. But feel tempted to leave it unfinished.

HopelessComposer
December 12th, 2009, 12:24 am
I find it pretty hard to make linework with the tablet too, which is why I only use my tablet for painting. For digital linework I need to look neat, I just use the line/curve/polygon tools. Practicing would probably help, but the line tool working just fine anyway, so I figure it'd be kind of a waste of time. XD

Your linework here doesn't look too bad, though.

Nyu001
December 12th, 2009, 12:32 am
I just figured out one reason why that happen is because the tablet is smooth whiles on paper you can feel the texture against the pencils. Those textures helps you to have a better control.

I think I heard once there was a tablet with texture? Or maybe is my mind tricking me.

HopelessComposer
December 12th, 2009, 06:20 am
Yeah, there are tablets with texture to them. I haven't tried them, so I can't say how good they are. I think it's more that you're not looking where you're drawing than the texture, though. It makes getting your hand-eye coordination right a little tough.

Nyu001
December 12th, 2009, 05:24 pm
Someone recommended me to use a paper on top of the tablet. But that can affect the pen.

This was my third try with the tablet:

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r153/Nyu001/Manface.jpg

Bad outline still. o_O

The outline's not that bad. The one of the girl is REALLY nice. I have trouble drawing on tablet too, the smoothness just throws me off.

Back to the traditional drawing, I have no done much with the tablet apart of the conceptual projects I needed to get done at my college.

This one is suppose to be a GUY. I hope it looks more like a guy than a woman... lol. Done in a small lapse.

Just in case, I was not 8 years old when I did that drawing. The drawing is 8 years old. The other one is well, I guess a baby demon. He was like eating the head of the other one, lol.

After months, finally I used the tablet again:

A policeman that seem to look too American style.

Solaphar
July 9th, 2010, 04:11 am
Nah. American cops don't have a collar like that. They also don't have a flap that goes over the chest.

Perhaps you were referring to the face?

M
July 9th, 2010, 04:22 am
Looks more English (Scotland Yard without the cap, to be exact) than American.

Nyu001
July 9th, 2010, 06:24 am
I was referring to the drawing style. :heh: I agree with both of you. And for some reasons that drawing makes me feel like a kid... ._.

Here another one practicing my lines (painting it also) :

i like how you draw fabrics. how it curves around the body. it's not an easy thing to do but you seem to know how to simplify it... and even then it's not an easy thing to do.

p.s. i like your new sig M. very watercolor-ie and provocative.

I tried again to make a self-portrait. But I failed again. XD I have been wanting to do one of me, but the sketch always turning different.

my opinion is that your actual face is sharper than your sketch. your sketch is... too dull, whereas your actual face is more edgy.

also, careful with your nose. i'm practicing to search for the tip of the nose rather than the widest part of your nose. hope that makes sense

Nyu001
August 15th, 2010, 08:42 pm
^I don't get what you are saying about the nose, lol.

Weee~ Finally I did a drawing on paper. Original drawing was on white paper.

RainingSilver64
August 15th, 2010, 10:44 pm
Okay, I'm posting! Now I'll finally be subscribed to this thread, and will not forget to check it! XD

I'll start with the self portrait.
What Ander is saying is right, your face is sharper than your sketch(more...edgy? Angular?). The top of the forehead needs to come out a bit more, the bridge of the nose needs to start closer to the right eye(the line needs to be more slanted(angled), and you need to define your lips. Oh, and your hairline needs to be sharper too. Other than that, it's good; I like the eyes X]. Btw, did you sketch that then edit on your computer or was everything done on the computer?

Okay, and the new one...it's a really good idea, but her face/head looks a bit weird, I think her chin is too far out, and the hairline is...off. Ask Ander, he's the pro on 3/4 views XD. The other thing is her shirt, it's a bit...I'm not sure, but the part where it folds around her legs are weird...maybe they're not defined enough? I think her shirt would look better if you made the fold lines a bit more natural, like the way you did on the blankets. Btw, I just noticed, but...what did you do to her feet? Lolz...

Nyu001
August 15th, 2010, 11:00 pm
Wooo a subscriber! \m/

The self-portraits were done directly on the computer. If I did it them with pencil, probably would have worked better, Lol.

I don't think in the last drawing her chin is too far out. But accidentally I got it squared when I darker it with the pencil, was curvy. The view, is from top (Ignore the line I left on the right). Head pointing to left, body center, legs pointing to right. About the shirt... do you mean flat? ;) I agree with the other things you said. About the feet, I just wanted to leave them like that. :P

RainingSilver64
August 16th, 2010, 12:34 am
o.o...Care to explain? (Btw, I really like how you drew that book XD)

Nyu001
August 16th, 2010, 12:41 am
I wanted to make someone cute with a book, then I thought why not add a cyber eye. Then I thought, why not add a pair of horns. Then I thought oh, maybe an elf ears would complement it. Then, I thought this need to smile, and added the mouth. Then I thought She seem hungry, then added a page she broke eating. Then added a random tail and a ribbon. Oh yes, forgot, she reminded me to a pig and added the pig nose. The book lines are not so straight, in special the inside ones. You see it got curved.

RainingSilver64
August 16th, 2010, 12:44 am
Err...so the "cute" part comes in...where exactly? XD (ROFLZ. Love your thought process.)

Nyu001
August 16th, 2010, 12:49 am
Cuteness is in the eye of the beholder... XD

By the way, I think you forgot to notice something else in the girl drawing. I put the name of the person I based that drawing, lol.

RainingSilver64
August 16th, 2010, 01:01 am
Lolz, I see it now. I found the name in the fold lines(after I did right-click, save as, to see the name of the drawing XD). Who is she?

Nyu001
August 16th, 2010, 01:09 am
Someone I occasionally talk. The drawing does not look anything like her, though. But the idea I based it on her.

Nyu001
August 16th, 2010, 01:18 am
I got remembered of an old drawing I did years ago. This is the only drawing I actually care for even if is not that great.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r153/Nyu001/Nyu.jpg

This one has a name hidden too. (You can see now that I tend to hide things sometimes just for fun).

RainingSilver64
August 16th, 2010, 01:21 am
I think I see letters that spell out "Ash" on her shirt...but I'm not sure...
Btw, I've seen you draw this girl before(pretty sure, anyways). Who is she?...

Nyu001
August 16th, 2010, 01:21 am
You just Missing one letter. :P

RainingSilver64

Nyu001

Look at the shirt. The "petals" are forming each letter. Starting from the left (right) shoulder to the center where the "H" is located.

Ander
August 17th, 2010, 08:36 pm
i saw the ASH RS was talking about right away, but the T was hard to find. anyways. i remember this pic too. looks like she took a pic of herself with a camera and you drew the pic, which makes your drawing interesting to look at from that angle. it's a nice drawing, with maybe some improvements on shading.

Nyu001
August 17th, 2010, 08:44 pm
I think I keep the T too separate from the rest. That was the second time I tried making a portrait of someone (2008, I believe). The hand was a pain in my back, I had problems getting that hand to look ok. XD

Ander
August 17th, 2010, 08:47 pm
i think the hand's fine. it's her wrist that's bothering you. you can't really tell where the side plane of her wrist is.

Thanks.

I am starting right now this one:

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r153/Nyu001/sketch-outline.jpg

I am thinking what kind of hair I will put on her head.

Edit:

I added hair. But I don't think is fitting her. I will come back to this drawing later. Any suggestion is welcome.

RainingSilver64
August 23rd, 2010, 10:23 pm
No, it's not, lolz...

Take out those crazy spikes on the left(our left) side, and I think...maybe make the hair right in front of her ears longer?...

It seems to be your style, but to be honest, I don't like how you really defined the lips...

Nyu001
August 23rd, 2010, 10:44 pm
Is not a style of mine. Is just a kind of lips that I select to incorporate sometimes. You will see that kind of lips in a few black people. But in any case, I suck at making lips and noses. Just practice will help. ;p

By the way, I kind of liked the crazy spikes on the left, but I modified the ones on the forehead.

Hair on the first one is...umm...unique? Lolz. Where'd her right hand disappear to?

The second one...XD I think it'd be cuter if you drew her mouth partially open in an upside-down trapezoid kind of shape, lolz.

Anyways, your drawings are really neat/clean, and the drawings are cute X].

Nyu001
August 26th, 2010, 03:31 am
Her right hand was placed behind her hip, that is why she has a pose like the mid part of her body is pushed forward. The way I lined that part is hard to understand, I should have lined it better.

I tried different mouths in the second one, including the one you are mentioning. But I ended selecting a waved line. In the image you do not notice it well because of the size, but if you look closer you will see the line is waved.

By the way, the last one was suppose to be a boy, not a girl. XD

mangaluva
August 26th, 2010, 02:11 pm
I thought the last one was a girl at first glance :heh:

The hair on the last one was some what....off. The front was a bit too short in my point of view.

i like how you're not skittish about drawing bodies. especially in a difficult pose. well... maybe not difficult... but not so common. like the neck is jerked that way while the body is doing this way. it looks pretty natural, too.

as for the randoms you have uploaded... it is quite random. i personally like the girl without the pigtail.

Nyu001
August 26th, 2010, 10:51 pm
I am able to do that pose. But I think some people can't. I think it is fine to people with long neck and slim body.

You're missing the verb in that sentence...

XD Your most recent pic(above) is funny, except I'm not a big fan of curse words, lolz. Sword looks kind of...shriveled up/dead(despite being an inanimate object), and his upper body looks like it would be a bit short, had you drawn the whole body.

Wasn't that in your album? ...or maybe it is still now?...

No. The one in the album is the finished one.

Oooooo. I like her body. The face can be more detailed to accompany the details on her body more... but it looks nice. I would suggest that the line of her mouth should be thicker and her chin and jaw should be more chiselled... chisled? sharper... but if you were going for a more curvy face.. then I take it back.

Thanks, though I did this digitally with my tablet and a blush I customized a bit.

At first I was not sure if I wanted it curvy or sharper. I went with a more curvy one for avoid to make her too sexy, lol. I will try the thicker mouth + sharper chin and jaw to see how she will look. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

This probably will be the last female drawing I make for a while, though I feel to put down other ideas I have... Someone complained that I am making too many females and not males. xP
