Which one do you like better? Explain why.

Depends on my mood. If I'm feeling fat, I'll go for the subway. If I'm feeling skinny, I'll go for the McDonald's. XD
I voted Subway, just because I think it'd be less likely to kill me if I had to eat it for the rest of my life...

I fail to understand why the extra 16 grams of fat in a Big Mac deter many away from Mc Donalds.

I vote McDonalds because they sell ice milk tea in HK McDonalds and green tea McFlurry in Japan (and wtfbbq they have DORAEMON HAPPY MEAL TOYZ@@@@) xD

*edit*

oh, and McDonalds carries a lot of Happy Meal nostalgia, like when I was 6 and went there every Friday for a month or two just to separately buy the Winnie the Pooh Honey Pot puzzle

....and I managed to put it all together :')

*edit #2*

and DOMGADZ they used to sell these guys :(

Why would people prefer the nasty mcdonalds food over subway? Are you people really that tasteless?

Many arguements there - Depends what you consider nasty about Mc Donalds.
Food hyegene? Food quality? Food health? believe it or not, Mc Donalds is healthier than your local fish and chips, and more hygenic than that little asian noodle restaurant around the corner.

Allow me to give a phard answer:

Would you like fries with that? Don't forget "Hello and Welcome to Walmart!" and "Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Walmart!" These phrases are so programmed, they're annoying rather than considerate.

So no.

---

Personally I wouldn't eat at either. I prefer to support local industry rather than corporate industry when it comes to food service.

Subway's quality has gone down.
McDonald's makes me feel sick.

I prefer eating in to eating out. Usually when I go out for food, it's for dessert.

haha actually, there is a person at my local maccas store that, when going through drive through, he says very random and quite hilarious things. Also, I applied at that franchise and the manager said you need to be able to crack a joke almost at anytime. The customer has to feel as comfortable as possible. Obviously, if the customer is in a hurry and looking distrest, you wouldn't hold them up.

Remember, I don't live in the same country as you, so service is different. And from what you say, it sounds much better here.

I deplore how McDonalds where I love now as for your name when you purchase your food so they can jot it down their receipt, and shout out your name when the food is done.

Who are they fooling? That isn't customer service, they still aren't on a first name relationship with me.

As for food, I'll take fresh ingredients over greasy shit anyday.

If only we all, at least, thought like that in everything we buy and use.

I agree, but it's also just unrealistic to try and apply that to everything. It's quite possible, but not convenient. At least trying to to get as many local products and services as possible is good if not sufficient, because there are still people beyond the CEOs and high authorities in cooperate industries that would like to keep a job and get paid.

maccas has salads. I never have them, but they're there.

My friend had one here, it had a hair in it :X and the box was a small square and seemed like they threw random leaves in 20 seconds.
Well that was a few years ago and I think they changed it entirely

The one I had in HK was presented all neatly in compartments and was definitely worth the money :P

Apparently people bitched about the Caesar dressing being really fattening - Personally I thought it was a bit too creamy when I had it so I only used half the tub :X

so yuh - salads are alright, but with McDonalds being McDonalds - the dressings ruined the healthiness

Caesar fattening? ARE PEOPLE CRAZY THESE DAYS? OMG I BETTER NOT PUT TOMATO SAUCE ON MY HOT DOG! IT'S GONNA MAKE ME FAT! <_<

Weight is a frikkin big issue naowadays, and more people are soo conscous of themselves. Jesus, if you can see your toes, you're fine! FINE!

OMG BUTTER ON MY TOAST@@@@@ :P

Well I guess people/media would care and like to pin down on McDonalds trying to be healthy
and after a quick read - it's proven that McDonald's caesar salad dressing alone is worse than most of their burgers XD
so that's misleading for the people walking in there wanting to be all calorie-free-weight-conscious-blahblahblah with their salads or just wanting the healthier choice
(but then again why the hell would they go to McDonalds in the first place )

Well, it's pretty obvious: If you're fat, don't eat so much! -_-

If you're not fat, it really doesn't matter, as long as you don't eat, say, TEN MCDONALDS BURGERS PER DAY!

("OMG I'M GETTING FAT, BUT I'M ONLY EATING TWENTY MCDONALDS PER DAY! ZOMG MCDONALDS SUCKS, I'M GOING TO SUE THEM!")

-_-

Thanks everyone for voting. Hmm who inserted "Neither" in the polls?:eyebrow:

Anyways, I was conducting a research investigation on this matter for class. Several polls were setup across several forums. The vote was unanimous. Subway is the winner.

Now for the purpose of this poll. I have subway and mcdonald's literally next to each other close by my house. McDonald's had far more customers than Subway while I stayed and observed. This contradicted with what I found on the internet. I have to ask the question why?

What I've found. Subway seems to be popular with Caucasian young to middle-age adults. McDonald's on the otherhand are popular with hispanic of all ages. Kids and teens seem to shy away from subway from what I've seen despite subway having the "kid's" meal thing, and those commercials where you always see kids choosing what they want on their sub.

Well, IRL isn't the internet, so... were your polls solely internet-based, or were there any conducted off the internet?

Also, McDonalds is... faster? I don't know, I haven't ate any of those for a long time D:

Internet forums tend to have a section of only a few type of persons of society. Thought people who watch anime and seek to play anime music aren't close to few, I'm sure that generally the "same type" of people join and actively participate in a forum with such a basis.

There are many groups that forums, in Ichigo's case at least I assume, don't represent, such as parents, young children, business executives or homeless. In real life, those are people that should be a part of habit research.

And then there is the idea that was brought up, real life. Though Subway is the healthier and more "obvious" choice, McDonalds is faster, far cheaper, has more crowd appeal, and is embedded in many people's and societies history.

Apart from the McFlurries, I don't think I like McDonalds'. Subway all the way!

Both have made me feel ill in the past.

Subway is okay... but I prefer chips over sandwiches... (Burger King chips are better, unless someone else has curly fries)

I like Subway better from a more consistency with their food quality across all countries - when stuck in Prague for something to eat because all the local restaurants were shut we could turn to the good old Sub - while Maccas in many countries is disgusting (more so than here, where it's edible if horrible for you). I eat McDonalds more often though, merely because it's cheaper if I need something quick to give me energy to get through a night at work - and you can't beat it when you're drunk LOL.

@Phard: I had my first ever whopper about a month ago :P
