ok so i was picked to be the piano player for my (catholic)school's events (soo grateful:lol:) and the next mass will be the rememberance day. We go to a church for the celebrations and the tech. asked me if i could play a song for the beggining part of the mass where its that "shut up you're in a holy place" time when everyone comes in through the doors. i have about a good 10~15 minutes to fill with a pretty song.

Problem is i don't have a clue what to play! i could go for the same song and play it about twice or i could get two diffrent songs... the song should be a bit sad mood, but beautifulllll.

i was thinking about Chanto Tsukandemasu Kara but all i can find is a piano-violin duet...and i don't have anyone who can play the violin well.... (it is a veryyy pretty song though)

the songs i already mastered aren't that many but they're:
River Flows In You
BlueBird (which isn't half bad if played EXTREAMLY slow...)
Eternal Snow
Love Chronicle (yes i know almost all anime songs but w/e)
and some RCM/classical stuff

i'm in RCM lvl 7 by the way....

if anyone has any suggestions please i would love any comment...

I am not familiar with the "level" thing. But one suggestion can be Pavane pour une infante défunte by Ravel. Another one can be a piano arrange of Pavane by Faure. Or the famous over used second movement of Beethoven's Pathetique sonata.

And some RCM/Classical stuff? That might be the best choice, considering it's a church. I've never listened to any other thing you've listed, but that's just my assumption... maybe make yourself more clear on "RCM/Classical stuff"?

How big is the church? Like, a small, neighbourhood church, or a big-city, concert hall church?

Erm, you can't really "play" Flanders Fields since it's a poem, not a song =/

Actually that poem has been put to song many a time.

Flanders Fields would actually be a very good pick for a Remembrance day mass, also if you play just the accompaniment to any slow John Rutter song, it'll probably be just as beautiful.
