What is the saddest anime song you have ever heard?

Mine would have to be 'Chrno no Kanashimi', from Chrno Crusade

For me I'd have to say "Outlaw Star - Hiiru No Tsuki"
That song is just so peaceful that it gives a sad feeling.

Especially In the English version in eps 22 & 26 since it's Melfina's song in Outlaw star.
here is the English Lyrics

I don't know
What words I can say
The wind has a way
To talk to me
Flowers sleep
A silent lullaby
I pray for reply
I'm ready

Quiet day calms me
Oh, serenity
Someone please
Tell me, (oh...hmmm)
What is it they say?
Maybe I will know one day.

I don't know what
Words I can say
The wind has a way
To talk to me
Flowers sleep
A silent lullaby
I pray for reply
I'm ready
:(

Gosh, I have alot of choices when it comes to this! :heh: I'm not really sure what you mean by sad, to me, songs of hope can be really sad to the heart as well. =]

When it comes to the sadness of the melody...
- "Roaring tides or Existence -piano-" from Clannad OST. I second that, Mizuchan09! :D
- "Forbidden Act or Contradicting Interdiction or Uncertainty" from Vampire Knight OST.
- "Mikuru no Kokoro or Haruhi no Kokuhaku or Aruame no Hi" from Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuuutsu OST
- "Lost my pieces or Yuugure No Yakusoku" from Toradora! OST
- "Track 25, 雨の捨て猫/Cats abandoned in the rain" from Phantom : Requiem of the Phantom.
- "Ichijin No Kaze or Karama nai Shisen no Sen" from True Tears

When it comes to the sadness of the lyrics...
- "Dear" from the 19's sound factory by Miku Hatsune/Sakura
- "silky heart" from Toradora! OP2 by Yui Horie
- "Lost my music" from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu by Aya Hirano

The list could go on forever you know... :heh:
