I'm writing this to inquire if anyone would have or be willing to arrange the sheet music for the song Obokuri Eeumi from the legendary Samurai Champloo anime series. The song I'm talking about is the one at the early part of the episode 14. The one in which Mugen is looking back to his past and the - stunningly beautiful - okinawaian song with an astoundingly beautiful piano on the backround is played. If there would be a contest for the Most Beautiful Song in the World, Obokuri Eeumi would be my candidate.

So please, if anyone knows where to get the sheet music or is capable of arranging it, I would be soooo grateful. Even if you don't, please listen to it. Obokuri Eeumi is the first song in a long time to touch me.

If anyone can acquire or form this sheet music, please let me know as well. I have been searching all over the internet with no luck.

I'm sorry, I don't know Japanese -- but is that song by any chance also known by the title Obtain Bearing? That song is from episode 14, I'm told... if it is indeed the same song that's being requested here, I would also love to have sheet music of it.

josh, you're an angel. And it really does sound like it would take a lot of work to transcribe, so thank you so much!

:D Oh, are you guys sure that it is that you're talking about the same song? I'm a little confused. The one with the traditional old lady singer right? If so, that would be great...I've been searching everywhere for it.

Yeah, that would be it. Is she really that old? I thought it was just a singing style. ^ ^;

Geez, just listened to all of it and that IS a long song. I can understand how you lost interest in it, Josh. I might consider picking this up from where you left off if there's a version of this song without the voice; that style of singing aint for me.

I just finished a transcription of the piano part (no voice as yet, sorry), and will be posting it to my site once it's been made legible to people other than myself. If there's still interest here, I'll post the link once it's up. It'll probably be in NoteWorthy Composer and/or .pdf, because Finale doesn't allow for time changes, which makes it just a bit too joker for this song.
