I am simply looking for some good music to transcribe so that i might be able to learn some techniques of the composers. I dun really know where to start so I decided to ask people for suggestions.

I'll take any game, anime, or drama music. Please have a link to your requested piece, preferrably stream. Please no PMs. If u have a music u want, posted on here with the instrument you want it for. :lol:

Edit: My major instrument is the piano with a moderate understanding of a wide variety of other instruments.

Only 1 request per person. If you would like it for an instrument other than piano, please state if u want a solo or with accompaniment. I will use a piano for accompaniment unless there are specific requests of another instrument.

Edit 2: All my transcriptions for Non-C instruments will be transcribed to the instrument's rightful key. Eg: A C-major song will be written and posted in Bb-major for a clarinet. However, for instruments such as piccolo or db bass in which the instrument sounds an octave higher or lower than whats written will not be transcribed up or down an octave. My transcriptions will be in standard orchestral notation.

This is based off the original Super Majin Buu Theme because if you were to play what the guy was playing on a normal piano without the synth sounds it will sound very bland. I played it a couple times and other than some jumps that I put in there that's hard to get accurately, it was fairly straight forward. For those of you that find the rhythm of the left hand too hard, just play them in straight 8th notes and it should make it alot simpler. The guy in the video does that anyways.

Well for starters I preferre to transcribe the none piano ones to piano much more because it gives alot more room for creativity. Transcribing the gundam seed song for orchestra was one of the harder ones I did but I think it was definately one of the most enjoyable ones to do. When its just plain piano it bores me cause whats there is well...there. I preferre to spend a week on figuring out how to make a techno beat appeal in piano than spending 2hours writing out the notes to a piano song.

Secondly, I try to take the requests in the order they come out of fairness. If I skipped some its because it didn't interest me or (sometimes) too difficult for me to work only by ear but I don't usually skip ahead and go back to old ones unless...read below...

My Preference (Read this if you have requests or is wondering why yours wasn't fulfilled):
I preferre to transcribe anime/game music but if people send me music from outside this genre I will still give it a listen. I don't like doing asian pop music cause they all sound the same so unless I get something WAY out there but still sounds good, I most likely won't do. I probably will never do a classical piece because it is impossible to not find them if people did a bit of digging online or at the library. If I put out 5 piano transcriptions, I will be very inclined to a change of instrument so I might skip ahead!!

Remember guys that I do this because its fun for me and gives me inspiration. I'm a nice guy but I'm not santa claus. I won't point fingers or anything but please don't send me PM's asking for sheet music and PLEASE don't PM me asking when I'll get around to a request both on youtube and here.

On a side note:
My Windows Movie Maker can't read .avi files and I know its some codec problem. I'm trying to upload the sheet music onto youtube but I can't because of this. Can anyone help me with finding a solution. I've tried 2 separate codec packs and neither of them worked so I think I need one that can patch onto windows movie maker or something.

I was recently in a car accident and at home recovering. It's amazing how irritating it is to be used to working so much then and then not being allowed to. :heh:
Gives me time to catch up on all these requests from you guys so I guess that's good right.

Note: There is alot of room in this piece to add fancy sounding runs up top. Also, it gets really repetitive without other instruments so players may choose to only play the first and last stanzas of the chorus to shorten it.

Truthfuly, I don't feel that I should feel obliged to report on my status to anyone regardig when I will get around to Transcribing. I'll do one when I feel like it and if I haven't done one in a long time I shouldn't need an explanation. Since you were polite about it I guess I'll let it slide and answer your question.

My company is in the middle of a merge and I have been very busy. The only off time I get is weekends and I prefer to spend it with my friends and gf then Transcribing music. As for when I'll start again, it could be any time. I do still listen to all the requests and even go back to earlier ones to see if I missed any that interested me.

For some odd reason, when I clicked the youtube link for this request I just started transcribing it before I even realized. I actually don't know why but I literally just opened my notation software and I was 5 bars into the song before I realized that I had started. Wonderful song and would had done more tweaking if my final wasn't coming up in 2 weeks but it was a very nice stress relief. Song is more for actual playing then the playback.

Unless you are looking for a specific arrangement, there is sheet music for it on micandonburi that is for piano + vocals, but you can omit the bass line and play only the top two lines. I don't think it'll sound that much different without the bass line, but I've never tried it, so I can't know for sure. They also have lots of other transcriptions for Vocaloid songs on there, but most are either arranged for ensemble or piano + vocals. Have fun!

EDIT: Is it possible to add Piccolo to the whole song?

You can give it a try but I think its better to have one person play both piccolo and flute. At least that's how we made it work on our band in highschool. The rest of the time, the piccolo-ist can play first flute with the rest of the section.

Also, the piece is made so that if some instruments think their part is too high, they can just play an octave lower as there is usually atleast one other instrument doubling their part. However, the opening trumpet does not have any doubling so its completely up to them.

Thanks! The flutes probably can't play both the piccolo and flute, I think I can get a classmate to help me get around that problem. I have another question. If in the case I am allowed to use the Soprano Saxophone, what part should I play? I can transpose and play, so no matter, unless you would like to add another part for that.

Usually the piccoloist would also have a flute rather than the flutist having a piccolo. I would be against having a piccolo for the entire piece but if you must, transpose the first flute an octave lower for the piccolo to play. This would most likely drown the piccolo out and make it not matter if it was there or not but at least it gives the player something to do.

I would have the soprano sax double either the trumpet or alto sax. It might be especially helpful to the trumpets at the opening statement that goes up to a high Bb(concert). This would allow an escape to the kids who just can't hit that high yet and have to drop the tone by an octave.
