I've been away for quite some time. I was reminded of Ichigos when talking to one of the wonderful people I've met here a while back.
Anyway, I thought I'd share some stuff I've been working on since I left.
(Studies are taking up all of my time nowadays...)
I was commisioned by a friend to produce som music and audio-fx for his games and some of the results I thought I'd share with you. Bare in mind though that these are only demos and far from finished.

Mr.Klister in the silly bomb nightmare:

The attached songs are all from the Mr.Klister game with the exception of
Fred's Nightmare which is a boss-song that is not in it... yet.
Enjoy and please leave a comment and/or suggestions.

Fred's nightmare feels too "soft" as for to be a boss theme. It feel more like to be in a dangerous stage where you must be very careful.
Fred's real dream is quite nice. Feels a bit military with the snare, the style for some reason pop in my mind Russia. I am not sure what to say of how it mix with the game. But was enjoyable to listen whiles playing the first stage.
If you will keep these pieces as loop, use .ogg files. They are better for loop because it does not give you that gasp an .mp3 file will do. :>

I really liked your percussion in Fred's Nightmare; it was fun. I agree that it's a little too subdued to seem like a boss fight, but it definitely builds tension.
Generally your orchestration is pretty cool. For some reason the piano soundfont bothers me a little; it seems to muddle things a little...maybe that's just me being a sequencing noob, though.

My main problem with the piano piece is that I feel the piano "too close to me".

This is great stuff. Composing for video games eh? That's my dream job. I see I have competition :P. Haha, on a serious note you have some real talent, and I am impressed. Do you use some sort of software to get the realistic sounds I'm hearing?

Welcome back one winged !
It's nice to see you're back since I always liked your compositions. You were the one who kinda hooked me in the first time I came here .
So well about the songs, I like Fred's real dream very much. It has the kinda of atmosphere a Tim Burton movie would have.
And I'll go with the family about the boss song. I think it would fit better playing just before entering the fight, to build the tension.
Anyways good job and it's nice to have you back here !

Thanks for all the comments :)
I really love that one of the pieces gave a Tim Burton vibe, that is what I was looking for kind of.
Elezeid, I use cubase with EWQLO-VST and the piano sample is a crap one which needs alot of tweaking with equalizers and stuff to sound anything remotely like a real piano :p
I guess that answers a Nyu001 in a way too. I have experimented with some room-effects to get some air in the piano lately.
The boss fight isn't settled on yet so the comments there will be helpful.
The battle is supposed to be across large stage I think so it has to be somewhat endurable, maybe I could go with a more intense thing for when you actually see the boss?
See you around guys.

Is that EWQL Stormdrum I hear? ^^ Anyway, the piano was tweaked pretty well actually, and I liked Fred's real dream with the exception of some unbalance in the orchestration.

Not meant to "tip you off", haha =) I used Stormdrum a lot too, although not so much nowadays. The orchestration is just cluttery, so the problem doesn't so much lie withing orchestration as it does with tweaking the sound samples better -- a time-consuming, annoying little price one has to pay for using great sound libraries. I know all about it ;)

Hello everyone. Just thought I'd pop by and say hello.
I made tune today or rather modified an old tune that has been bugging the back of my brain for ages :P
I kind of like it but tell me what you think.

I really like this and I have been listening to it in repeat for a while. It's catchy to me.
The weaker part of this track is in the production, it sounds so unrefined and poor, the synths have like an outdated unpolished sound. You can improve this a lot if you dedicate the time to tweak everything to add punch, balance, and more flavors, perhaps starting it from zero. The compositional part leaves a lot of space to be creative and improve, so I believe this piece can be a lot better. It's a fun track.
