Lol, my first ever forum thread... :heh:

Anyone looking forward to the the second season of K-ON! scheduled for broadcast sometime around this year?

Somehow, I get the feeling that the show has lost its appeal among fans due to the KyoAni bullshit with Haruhi (Endless 8!! @_@) and the emergence of other titles such as Bakemonogatari. Also, I believe that some people are not really happy with this upcoming sequel because they thought that other titles deserved a sequel much more that K-ON. Personally, I didn't really anticipate the comeback of the show much, but when I recently watched the new K-ON episode 14 (OVA), I started to regain interest and felt hopeful for the second season. Haha, just a sidetrack, but I mean c'mon, even Josh likes the show! XD

So do you guys have any expectations/hopes for the new season? =) Anyone who is dissatisfied with it?

*UPDATE* The second season of K-ON! is expected to air on April. I got to know this news on Jan 31st. Source below.

Well, K-ON is the only moe type show that I watch (and like, not really a fan of them but there's something about K-ON) and 14 eps was definitely not enough, even with the 6, 3 minute bonus eps. Its a good fun show that lightens up my summer holidays and kills time. So, you "could" say I'm looking forward to it....................a lot.

K-On was a nice idea, but instead of portraying a strong storyline, they're targeting the "feely" anime B-Type crowd that Artifact talks about on Sankaku Complex (http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/01/16/the-two-types-of-anime-otaku/) (Potentially NSFW).

I didn't mind the first season all that much, although I found the artstyle to be utterly horrible and actually drove me to stop watching the B-Team productions of Kyoto Animation (what the hell is wrong with their wrists, and why the baby teeth?!). I'm almost certain that I'll dislike the second season. I mean, short of new character introductions, there was no character development, it lacked depth, the music was mediocre to bleeding-ear pointless, the voice actors were so-so (still better than Kaze Kaitou Jennie (http://anidb.net/a354)). Contrary to what I said above, the animation was done decently, but I had personal issues with it, especially when it came to high-motion animation.

Why would I watch this when I could watch something that could season my pallet like FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (http://anidb.net/a6107), the aforementioned Bakemonogatari (http://anidb.net/a6327), or some more creative sub-par anime such as Asura Cryin` (http://anidb.net/a6374), Sacred Blacksmith (http://anidb.net/a6546), and Sora no Otoshimono (http://anidb.net/a6658).

Hmm... I dropped K-ON at episode 4... It wasn't terrible, but I was disappointed at the wasted potential. I thought visuals were really nice, but that was the extent of what appealed to me in the series. Couldn't help but think that Kyoani is wasting their resources on these series when there's still more Key to adapt. Heh....

That was interesting info, the anime A-type and B-type crowd. I didn't know otakus could be categorized in such ways. Haha, maybe the artstyle was intended to be more Moe and cute? XD Oh well, the artstyle has become too distinctive to the point where Sora No Woto (the new anime) has been compared to K-ON! for visual similarities. Yup, true, the show lacked depth and the lyrics to the music they composed were just too stupidly laughable. :heh:

Yup, agreed. I would die much more for a Little Busters! adaptation, haha. I heard that Angel Beats! done partly by Key is gonna appear soon in Spring 2010, looks like an interesting show to me, uniformed students holding pistols. ^_^

I thought it was good, so I'll look forward to the next season. I thought it was a bit on the low end by KyoAni's standards, but that still left it better than nine out of ten anime, imo. I have a feeling the second season will be better than the first, for some reason. I'm a lowbrow type B though, so, you know. =)

Also, Artefact is a stupid douchebag who writes the most retarded stories ever looking for site hits. If I didn't find his writing style to be entertaining, I'd hate him from the bottom of my heart.
And anyone still butthurt over endless eight, to the extent that it's actually affecting the way they feel about other KyoAni shows (or even the next haruhi season/movie) needs to go jump in a ditch.

Edit: lol, seems like one sexy piece of official art is all it takes to be forgiven, actually: http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/01/29/nopan-haruhi/ (NSFW)

GAR! Just as my holidays are coming to an end (and I'm busy watching Kanon 2006 anyhow). I'll guess I'll just wait to my next holidays and use it to kill time then
