I have a friend who is a diehard otaku. I remember chatting with him online one time (We were calling each other names like Otaku and Stupid Hikikomori. :heh:) and asking him about some of the anime that he's watched. Then he brought up an interesting fact. He told me that he's got his mind set on on re-watching White Album 1 before watching White Album 2 in order to familiarize himself with the plot of the show. I told him "Haven't you watched the show before, otaku?? XD". He replied, "Forgot the plot mah". Honestly speaking, I was shocked! I'm a person who really enjoys watching anime a lot, so I never forget plots of anime shows that I've dedicated myself to finish watching. The only thing I tend to forget is names of certain anime characters. I understand that he has watched a lot of anime shows, so it might be difficult for him to recall, but I mean, what's the point of sitting through an entire anime series if you're going to forget about the plot anyway? :\ I was wondering if any of you guys out there have an interesting opinion regarding this issue. Do you forget anime plots as well?

It really depends on how much anime you've watched. For instance, I've watched collectively 2249 hours worth of anime over the past four years. I honestly don't remember every episode of those series. Instead, I remember the key points and characters involved, and I remember the last, say, 20 animes I've watched in a particular block of time. It's not that shocking for those that watch a lot of anime to forget about some of them.

I don't remember every episode and all the character names, but I'm the type of person when the anime title is mentioned, I can remember the base plot of the animes, and my anime list is huge as well, lol.
Some key episodes of certain animes I can remember, but as every episode of every anime, that's almost impossible, unless I had a photographic memory or didn't watch as many series as I have, lol.

I'm at 5088 hours of anime watched myself on my completed anime list, and that's because according to the list, I've spent a total of 212 days worth of Anime-content, lol.

:heh:

Depends on the show and what you're watching for.

Some shows aren't enjoyable without really getting into the intricate plots and backstories.
Other shows, you just sit back and soak up the mood, atmosphere, and dialogue.

it depends actually .. the shorter the anime or the shorter the time i have watched it.. the easier i forget those .. but the long ones .. it actually takes me months to get over with it .. xD

Like all of Adachi's work the main focus is the characters followed by the sport. Romance is a main focus in the manga involving several characters as well which you would like, there's also several twists to it but saying it would really spoil the series big time... Really surprised me more then once. @_@

Lol, I dont either.

Anyway, I hate whenever I forget the plot and such. That's why I've been starting to take daily quizzes on random series I've seen.

sometimes I forget parts of the plot if I haven't been reading/watching the series
