I think is an interesting anime - the title doesn't really match with the actual subject of the anime (I wonder where they got it from?) but I really enjoyed the first episode and am looking forward to seeing more of it. It's got a mixture of humour, family relationships, fight scenes and cool Death Gods, and I read somewhere that it's by the same studio as Naruto so it looks like being a long series. Has anyone else seen it and enjoyed it?

Waaaaaait! I said it was from the same studio but not necessarily the same style! The storyline is really different and the characters are quite interesting - from what I've read the manga (sorry to mention it :think: ) is a long way ahead of the anime so it'll be a fair while before they'd have to even think about chucking in those dull flashback episodes and suchlike while waiting for the manga to catch up. I dunno how much you've seen of Bleach, but don't let Studio Pierrot put you off it just yet :)

Sorry to say, but a lot of times, the manga is way better than the anime. Mainly because it was made first and many thing could be expressed easier. Besides, manga seems to be Sinbio's preference... maybe you shouldn't take it so personally. Of course, that is only an option.

Anyway. Haven't seen Bleach though I've heard some good and bad things. If its from the same studio as NARUTO, I might consider... though NARUTO was a little annoying. >.>

I don't mind Sinbios liking manga, but after only a zillion times I know that he prefers the manga over the anime. Still he has to state it in every damn topic about every damn anime.

Just because its from the same studio as Naruto does not make it a bad anime. It doesn't mean it will be long either. Naruto and Bleach are completley different. The anime is quite good and goes at an interesting concept.

A guy who can see ghosts becomes a "Death God", or he saves souls from becoming hollows (tainted souls/monsters), and he slays hollows to save souls. The characters are pretty interesting, and as far as I've seen its going in the opposite direction of Naruto. I believe this may end up only 26 episodes, but who knows, it can go on for 52 or even more.

Angelic, Blackrose, this deserves at the very least a try. 25 minutes or so won't kill you. Why not watch it and then comment? Oh well, do as you please :D

and it's true, the anime is very dragged out compared to the manga in this case, although there's no major difference in terms of story.

I've been watching Bleach, and so far, it's pretty cool! It'll be really interesting to see what happens to the main character, whether he becomes "legendary", or just return his powers to the girl. There seems to be hints of his greatness, like how he was able to break the curse, and how his sword is ridicously big. I guess we'll just have to watch and see.

uh... bleach is way better on manga than on anime, they tend to change the humor around n such, also detortating character development abit

well, anime doesnt stress the eyes out as mcuh though, u have to take that into consideration XD

The anime seems okay. I've watched the first three episodes and it isn't too bad. It's not one of those animes that immediately grab your attention and make you want to sit and watch multiple episodes at once. At least for me. Of course, I can't quite compare it with the manga since I haven't read it yet. Anyway that's my two cents for another two months.

the anime isn't bad, just dragged out. the events just go by much faster in the manga, doesn't mean it'll make you hate the anime.

I love Fruits Basket. I just bought the entire series and it's hilarious. I love how it has comedy and even a dark side to it. I love all the characters they are all very well done. I don't think there is even a single character that I dislike. I even like Akito! ^_^ And i enjoyed the anime greatly especially the dubbed version because none of the characters had annoying voices and all of them suited them perfectly. And they made Hana just hilarious. She's like my fifth favorite character. Well she's after Shigure (hehe he's the greatest), Kyo (he's just kewl), Ayame (He's funneh!), Kagura then Hana and then Hatori! ^_^ I love them all actually. But Shigure is still my favorite. he's just too funny. Well anyways enough of my boring rantings. Farewell all!

Bleach is pretty good, but one thing that bothers me is that practically NO ONE dies in that anime. I'm not some bloodthirsty person who wants to watch people die in anime, but it's making the anime slightly stupid. Ichigo fights against someone who is way above his level, he gets badly hurt. He heals, he fights again, gets hurt, gets healed, etc. Same with other characters.

otherwise, it's not a bad anime to watch. It's getting long as well *but it can't beat naruto*, anyone have any idea how many episodes it'd be?

Matt, a girl who's younger than my but yet I call her my adopted anime mother. *Shifty eyes* ANYWAYS... she's interduced me to the mangas and she's watched the anime and tells me alot of it. Right now it's ghost licensed; meaning it doesn't have a offical R1 (America & Canada) DVD release, but you're not supposed to download it (because you can be punnished by law). I'm not certain if it's the full series, or if it's just the first two cools, or whatnot, all I know is that 2 fansubbing groups (well.. there's 22, but Bleach Socity and Dattebayo are the only ones I could recomend) are all that are currently subbing.

It's your choice if you want to download them or not, but currently they are not availible for purchasing in the USA.

I used to think this was an awsome anime, but after the first two cools (one cool equals 12 eps; or the first portion of a 24/25/26 episode anime), it started to go off in a different direction. This new direction, I don't like. It is too DBZ- / DBGT-ish, not to mention the filler eps. Now I just find it boring, just like any anime that goes near the hundred mark.

Hey guys just saw Bleach on AS I wanna saw I like it, well I never seeen the japanese ver4, but I had read the first Vol of Bleach. I like it it's ok and all. I'll watch the Japanese ver.later on today on youtube and compare them and get back to you later. But over all I like it. YAY BLEACH :D

Well, its dubbed better than Naruto but I cant believe they took out the BOOHAHAHA that Don does. That is one of the more funny parts of Bleach.

I think filters are what they don't want the American people to see cause it might have some religious thing that the Japanese don't think is SO bad like it would be here, or some sexualy thing that they don't wanna show either.

fillers are episodes that don't have anything to do with the story. They're episodes that "fill" in the gaps of time or give the mangaka time to write more of the story in manga form so he/she can turn it into episodes(I think their goal is to always have the manga waay ahead of the anime). So, I think Bleach is still in that stage. I haven't watched the anime lately, so I'm not sure. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

But you'd have to translate it yourself. *points to self* thats what I try to do. I usually end up buying it in English though because I get lazy.

of course. there are stories in the anime that aren't told in the manga. The mangaka is waiting for the manga to get far enough ahead of the anime, and there are some scenes that were only shown in manga, and some that were only shown in the anime. But as for the Bleach manga vs. Bleach anime, of course, the Bleach manga is continuing the storyline.

The point is that when the anime gets ahead of the manga they can either slow it down and make things happen really slowly (fights are good for that) or they use fillers (with the annoying bohaha guy), which creates stuff that's not in the manga.

I don't mind the fillers though I have to admit, they were a bit of a let down after the Soul Society arc. Thats when we read the manga ^.^ and Don Kanonji? yea, he's in the manga as well. Looking forward to the Bleach film, but I don't know how to go about watching it without travelling to Japan >.<

why do i find pictures of ichigo as a hollow? is there something about being a hollow in the seires?

The Hollow within him takes control of Zangetsu and Ichigo has to defeat the Hollow within himself. Then Ichigo becomes uber-strong and can control his Hollow powers.

You never know. There are so many people they could involve yet could also have forgoten the existance of. For example, that guy thats famous and got the kids to help in his tv show. the exiled woman and the single bounto guy will want to do one last thing.

i saw the first 50 episodes of bleach and it gets a bit tedious after a while. no one ever freaking dies! people get slaughtered to an inch of death, but they magically stay alive. The first few episodes are good, but then it gets really Dragonball-Z-ish

Well I dont know myself but at end of one episode i saw that the Bounto Koga Gō survived.

Anyways in reference to the first few posts, though most manga is better than the anime, there are a few animes out there where they are better than the manga. For example I think Ouran High the anime is much better. I got the 1st Ouran High manga and the eyes took up 99.9% of their faces, the tears were unbelieveably huge, and the story line is very close to the anime. Fruits Basket was pretty good but more like an introduction to the manga. Also FMA the anime is known for flowing smoothly, but manga makes Al and Ed seem more tough.

Umm... o.o" ? I watched all the FMA anime... It was good at the time. The movie was horribly random and weird. Now I don't care for it that much anymore. Ok, so... Bleach? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was the original topic... Ok, so anyways... Yeah that Bounto did survive, but he will probably be in some filler episode like the whole rest of the Bounto season. I hope they don't kill it like they did to Naruto with a billion random stupid filler episodes.

Bleach turns out the captains and vice-captains of the 13 Protection Squads haven't even been at full power all this time. Conveniently, they suddenly get the power to dispatch of their adversaries, and the battles that took up all of the last episode are ended pretty quickly. The obvious question to ask here is "Why the HELL didn't you just do that in that first place?!?" The explanation given, that the restriction is in place to avoid affecting spirits in the human world, doesn't really make much sense when you consider the threat the Arrancars pose to that very same world. Soul Society always knew these guys were gonna be extremely tough, and yet they let the Shinigami take some serious injuries before breaking out the big guns. But Bleach has never been a show that boasted a whole lot of rational situations, and the resulting ownage of the limit releases was cool, so I won't gripe too much. :heh:

In all fairness, this wasn't a bad story by itself, but considering that it immediately followed an exciting episode with a wonderful cliffhanger, the sudden change in pace and setting was very disappointing.

The episode committed a serious error when it opened with a flashback of all things, leaving us still hanging on the cliff from the previous episode. It was the oddest change of pace I've seen from the show in quite some time. It was so odd, for a second I thought they might have skipped an episode by mistake.

After a great pair of episodes featuring Ikkaku as we've never seen him before, Bleach returns to the other battles in the first group encounter with the Arrancars. While it was great to see Hitsugaya, Renji, and Rangiku back in fighting form, the episode had a number of problems and these characters, who are usually fan favorites, didn't really get a chance to shine.

The story started with the remaining Soul Reapers doing battle against their respective Arrancar opponents. They're not really doing all that great, though. Renji is having serious difficulty with his enemy, and he's starting to get some pretty bad injuries. Luckily Cloud, Nova, and Ririn come in to assist. But their help isn't nearly enough, and they get messed up pretty bad. Even Little Ururu, in her polka-dot pajamas, goes all crazy and does her version of The Powerpuff Girls, and she gets in a few really good punches. That particular scene was surprising, and really...odd. Further explanation will be needed for that to make sense, but for now I'll go with it and enjoy the sweet irony of a little loli getting in some pretty good shots on an enemy that even a Soul Reaper had trouble with. It must really suck to be Renji when a grade school kid has to come help you save your skin.

This episode had quite a bit of Bleach's unique flavor of humor, slapstick, and wild takes. But, although we didn't cover much new ground here, it was still enjoyable, and one particular scene was very touching.

The story started off with Ulquiorra and Yammy returning to give their report to Aizen. In one of the oddest scenes in any recent episode of Bleach, Ulquiorra pulls out his EYE and then smashes it, which disperses some freaky sparkle glitter stuff that somehow shows what he saw to his partners. It's almost like some telepathic form of angel dust. Creative, but creepy.

Aizen seems fairly content with what he sees, but the other Arrancar are royally pissed. In particular, a dude named Grimmjow points out that Ulquiorra should have just killed Ichigo and his friends and been done with the whole thing. Ulquiorra's response is basically, "Dude, chill. I got this." I get the feeling that Ulquirria's character flaw is hubris.

Meanwhile, Ichigo has a problem with housing the other Soul Reapers, a situation that leads to several long comedic scenes. Kon gets a little ecchi on us at the idea of Rangiku and Orihime sharing a bed, and proposes to Rangiku that he could be the "gardener in your forbidden flower garden." There is something very unsettling about a talking teddy bear pervert.

One of the main bright points in this episode is Hiyori. It's been a while since we've had a hefty helping of her unique personality, and she never fails to make things interesting. This story got off to a quick start with Hiyori putting a hurting on Ichigo in a fairly one-sided battle in her "complete hollowfication" state (which is cool, I admit), until our good friend Hollow Ichigo makes an appearance. The other visoreds have to step in and keep things from getting out of hand. Hiyori seemed pretty freaked out by her close call with the merciless side of Ichigo, maybe she'll take him a little bit more seriously later.

At the moment though, Hiyori is still wearing the devil-may-care tough girl persona, and not too long after the near deadly fight, Hiyori's calling Ichigo a dumbass, and Ichigo, not one to back down from insults, calls Hiyori "snaggletooth." That was kinda funny.

See, when Gin stabbed Aizen, he "stole" Aizen's Hougyoku as well. However, I think it's been said that the Hougyoku permanently belongs to Aizen now - so even though Gin has it, Aizen is still the owner of it. It probably gives him like epic supervillian powers, making him unable to die - but Gin thought by stealing it, the powers would go away. He was obviously wrong, and because the Hougyoku was never away from Aizen before, some new state was probably created that will all be revealed in the next, most boring infodump chapter ever.
