We'll see for how long this time, maybe only a couple of days. Been writing a lot of new stuff. Here's two of the more recent. The invention was a little Bach-esque invention I wrote for three strings for an easter service. The excerpt from "The Soote Season" is a larger piece I'm trying to figure out. Sent in the excerpt for college pre-screening though, amongst other more polished pieces. Enjoy, I hope!

Edit: Oh, and I'm probably going to U of W - Eau Claire. I got a scholarship and everything so it's looking promising. One of you here recommended the school to me, but I can't recall who.. So yeah, whoever you were out there, your random internet post may have made a big difference in my college decisions, since I didn't bother applying or researching the school before you mentioned it. Pretty excited!

Invention:
I like how you can sustain a piece with such a simple motif. That is, as you say, very Bach-esque. It would be cooler, though, if you had a bit more interplay with rhythm. If you still want that Bach feel, check out some of his cantatas for ideas on cool rhythm.

The Soote Season:
Well, this is pretty unfinished, but it looks promising. I have a soft-spot for ambitious large-scale works. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply and comments! Here's something I just recorded 3 minutes ago ^_^, with my old crackly voice recorder. Doesn't really qualify as a "composition", but my friend asked me to write a cute song about the Loch Ness monster, so that's what it is I think? Ha ha, just posting this up for kicks. Me being bad at guitar!

I think I can see where you were going to the loch ness monster one. Sounded like the background music to those UPS commercials. You know, with that guy who draws all that crazy stuff? Invention was interesting. As someone has mentioned it does seem like something that would eventually be much more developed. It could have been just be but some of the notes sounded a bit "off"? I might be going crazy though, so.

You recorded it. It's a composition in every sense of the word. You'll probably need something more to associate it with the Loch Ness Monster.

I think you will need lyrics for that piece to relate to a loch ness. The song was cute but I could not see the loch ness monster when I heard it.

Yeah, I'll write lyrics. It's supposed to be a silly song :). Gonna post some new stuff up soon.

i could picture a false impression of loch ness monster off villagers faces when they see how cute the monster is in real life. lol. and someone might say "get him!" and down goes the loch ness.
