Okay, this has been bugging me the whole day. There's this commercial on discovery channel (for a programme about building Leonardo Davinci's inventions) and at the beginning of that commercial they use a piece of - I think - classical music. I believe it's actually a wellknown piece but I can't find it anywhere.

In fact, it sounds like the piece from the commercial could just jump in during that song at any time. So my question is, does anyone here know of any songs that are very similar in style to Palladio by Karl Jenkins?

That piece was used for a diamonds' commercial. There is a remix also, if I am not wrong, performed by bond. That piece also is one of three movements of a work by him. Maybe check his works and see if you like the other string pieces he has composed.
