Again nothing that catches my fancy at first..........I'll just have to go back to the good old animes and wait for the next season.

Sorry, I've been busy, I just saw the list today and I was like "Hmm, I figure it's already been posted" and I was right :P

In contrast to Taemond up there, I have a LOT that I'm looking forward to this season (especially HOTD!). I'm intending to follow all but 5 of those in that list. Summer seems to be good...but somewhat still lacking in number...

At first glance, it seemed better than last season; a closer inspection shows otherwise...

I've watched the first season of Sekirei, grudgingly. Will take a pass this time around.

Honestly how long can HSotD be? THEY ESCAPE FROM A FREAKING HIGHSCHOOL IT'S NOT 30 KILOMETRES LONG

ChristopherArmalite
May 29th, 2010, 06:09 am
It's not just simply escaping a school full of zombies, that's just the beginning lol
Think of it as a George Romero movie. A full-blown zombie apocalypse starts while they're in school, they band together and try to survive (like any zombie movie)

Ah, I thought so :P
It'd be funny if it was just escaping from the highschool though, each 6 minutes of footage is actually one minute in the anime >_>

none of these look all that interesting to me, though if some of them become very popular i might try getting them out of the library.

What is their obsession with high schools... that is turning so dull, lol.

All I know is that it's about a month away from when we'll see the first episode of Shiki fansubbed, and I'm stoked.

Nurarihyon, Basara 2 and HotD seem good ~

...not to mention that Black Rock Shooter OVA coming soon

Now that is something that I'm intrigued to see. I just want to see what they make of it.

(and if they don't use a Hatsune Miku song as the op and ed, then somethings wrong with them).

Kuroshitsuji 2, yeah! And High School of the Dead looks fun, too. =)
Edit: Shiki looks great too. Good call, M.

Was there once a manga of that anime High School of the Dead? I don't remember it...

But High School of the Dead looks really awesome there. :3

ChristopherArmalite
June 14th, 2010, 07:39 pm
Yep, there's a manga
I've been watching over it for over 2 years now and I was so excited to hear it's getting an anime adaption XD

Hopefully, it won't be the "13 eps, cutting corners" thing that is prevalent in today's series. 13 episodes can't do this series justice, lol

animefans12
June 14th, 2010, 11:36 pm
That's quite true. *Laughs*

It'll probably only be thirteen eps though, judging by the production values. They look too high to risk a full season on, which is both a good and a bad thing. Hopefully, if it is thirteen eps, it ends up being a success, so they do more episodes later.

June 15th, 2010, 04:21 am
Well, it's a win-win either way. If it's good enough to continue, great. If it doesn't make it, it means the anime adaption sucks. :P

ChristopherArmalite
June 15th, 2010, 05:28 am
I wouldn't really call that "win-win" because the latter outcome isn't a "win" situation at all...

Mushyrulez
June 16th, 2010, 12:18 am
...No, I mean if the anime adaption sucks, then cutting it will be good. The quality of the anime is something we can't really tell though (yet)...

Nothing really catch my eye here too, but maybe some of them will turn out to be good.
But I don't think that these will overcome of spring's Durarara!!

It's in three days (the 26th). Give it about a week after that for fansubbers and you'll see something.

Toradora clone, moe blob, a continuation of the largest harem ever conceived by anime, and a port from old movies.

And to top it off, "The Legend of the Legendary Heroes" ...WHY?!

That can be considered a Code Geass clone, I guess
The main's even voiced by Fukuyama

I really hope 'Legend of the Legendary Heroes' is just some fan translator's idea of a joke...

ChristopherArmalite
June 30th, 2010, 01:21 am
nope, that's the literal translation XD
"Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu (伝説の勇者の伝説)" = Legend of the Heroes of Legend/Legend of the Legendary Heroes hahahah

high school of the dead is rated mature...

Mushyrulez

Because it's got zombies and... a bit too much fanservice.

mangaluva

ugh... creepy, though I have to compliment it for having gore, unlike all the other mangas that JUST DONT HAVE ENOUGH GORE!

animefans12

I have to half agree with you there. Yes, some animes/mangas are just dying to have the need with more blood and gore in it, but some are just... WAY ABOVE that.

Zombies + Boobies = Epic Win.

Er, well, according to some guy on some forum who claims to have read the manga...
That bus that they're on in Episode 3 turns into a sex bus because of that teacher guy @_@

ChristopherArmalite

Yep, pretty much. But it's not really a "ooh, nice!" situation, in the context of the story it's actually pretty unsettling

Black Rock Shooter was awesome. I like Ookami-san (probably because I liked Toradora) and Seitokai Yakiundomo. I shat bricks when I realized Shino and Aria were the same voice actors as Mio and Ritsu respectively. HotD would be a lot better if it wasn't for all the damn fanservice. After reading the manga I'm looking forward to the next few episodes as they go more into Busujima's personality (because any character Miyuki Sawashiro voices is awesome). Also, neither of the pictures show that K-On!! S2 is still going, which it is. It's probably the last season too.

I wish I could get into it. I've watched up to episode 5. I think having actually been to Okinawa and worked at the American military bases ruins it for me. I assure you, they are not as cool as this show would make you believe.

Hey, an untranslated version of the Fall list is out, but there seem to be some interesting sequels/adaptions in there. Talk about it here or new thread?

Another show I saw recently, also with recycled personality types D:, was Nurarihyon. But for some reason, I liked that a bit more, even though it's still really predictable:

"Hey guys, we've just defeated the first enemy to appear, I guess everything's peaceful now. But what is this!?!? A new group of villains has appeared, precisely timed with the defeat of the last villain. No boring stretch of (semi-)normal days for us. No sir. The enemies will line up to fight us, one after another, as if fighting Jackie Chan. We can always rest assured that we'll never have a second or third enemy appearing while we're only halfway through the current villain's arc."

Sometimes writing like that bothers me. Same with when they constantly add characters. These are cop-outs and lazy writing in my opinion, and I'm surprised at how often it's done, and also at how people continue to put up with it. But whatever. =)

Nurarihyon was so predictable I knew everything that was gonna happen.

I mean Episode 6
"Hey, you guys lets go outside with one person who can fight and leave the other people inside with this other person who can fight. Oh my god some random guy just attacked me! At least the random guy doesn't have a PARTNER who is currently fighting the other people, and right before striking had his attack deflected by that other guy who suddenly appears at just the right moment!"

Rikuo's also really hate-able, but Night-Rikuo + Yuki-Onna are the two characters who make this show bearable.

High School of the Dead was not bad... Well, in my opinion, that is. Reminds me of Left 4 Dead or something like that.

HotD 6 was insanely stupid. The only good part was the policeman guy, but he died so :(

animefans12
August 17th, 2010, 06:30 pm
That's true. While watching episode 6, I was like this as I tried to find more action and less harem or something like that in that episode: =_=

ChristopherArmalite
August 17th, 2010, 08:58 pm
It gets better in the next episode, I was hoping they'd do the rescue in episode 6 but I guess they didn't. This one should be good

Mushyrulez
August 18th, 2010, 12:10 am
Eh, still felt 'twas a bit cheesy. Ya have Takashi rescuing some little girl (obviously fa more loli, which this show was found ta lack), and then it flips ta nurse and ta other pink-haired person whose name ended with -aya doing nothing at all :V

Asobi Iku Yo (3/5)
An example of a great time waster. This reminds me of the good old days when anime was interesting enough to relax and enjoy without being annoyed. While the story doesn't really move all that much forward from the beginning, the scenario is mildly impossible to insane keeping things fresh as the episodes progress. As stated earlier, I quite liked this anime. The major downfall of the anime is the lack of a strong introduction and ending. If they actually executed that better, it would have gotten a higher mark.

Ookamisan (2/5)
What the heck did I just watch? Episodic, cliched (intentionally), unlovable characters, and a narrator that you constantly have to fight with to hear what the other characters are talking about. I tried to find nursery rhyme themes, as the anime so avidly proclaimed, but none of them were very clear. I'd even beg to say that the only thing related to fairy tales were the puns on the character's names. Unmemorable, horrible music and audio, and a storyline that is as difficult to follow as it made sense made me lose interest in this anime. I can't recommend anyone to watch it.

Occult Gakuin (3/5)
This show was slightly painful to watch. It got off to a start with a bang, but it seems like the writers couldn't decide which direction they wanted to take the anime. The plot's thick and full of twists near the end, which made the overall viewing of the series quite pleasing, but this does not redeem the anime. I do have to give the writers props for using actual legends and OOPArts, whereas most anime decide to create their own and call it good. I can't say much for the animation, as the quality varied between episodes: grand to terrible. This is another one that's good to watch once, and maybe a second time, but no more than that.
