specially for angel beat has probs one of the best ending ever. when i watched it today i didnt really understand it but when it i did. it just hit. BAM then the tears started.

This shifts all the time, but this is my current top ten.

Kanon 2006 -> For overall good story, unprecedented comedy, fantastic voice talents, and revolutionary soundtrack.
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien -> For no bars held back story that can easily be related to your real life.
Looking at the Half Moon -> For utterly beautiful casting and organization.
Air TV -> For plot twists, animation, and disconnected storyline
Cross Game -> Simply the best telling of a sports drama, bringing a light to how people cope with death.
Ef - A Tale of Memories -> Artistic shadow and light, along with parallel stories drive this to a unique experience.
Kara no Kyoukai -> Utterly awesome philosophy and storytelling.
Spice and Wolf -> Fastest slow pace romance I've ever seen with very mellow and soft tones, while not falling into a pit of childish immaturity.
White Album -> Hard to describe why this is here, but it's a very strong and focused anime.
Chrno Crusade -> The ending makes this anime.

I guess with little thought my top ten at the moment is:

I might have more than top 10 animes for me and it might change on later as I see more animes, but for now, this is my list:

1. Lucky Star - It's just plain epic and hilarious.
2. Kara no Kyoukai - Awesome animation and great story.
3. AIR (TV) - It's really good and quite sad.
4. Ouran High School Host Club - Funny. End of story.
5. Angel Beats! - Great animation I have to say and the ending really just smashed into me. Made me almost cry. ;_;
6. Death Note - I have no comment here.
7. Shikabane Hime (Aka/Kurou) - Lots of flashy action.
8. Minami-ke - Just plain hilarious.
9. Ghost Hunt - The suspense and horror is just plain awesome to me.
10. Pandora Hearts - I'm not done watching it, but it's definately good.

And one more vote for Kanon, yay!

To add to what hasn't already been mentioned, I found Darker Than Black's first season quite good. Beyond the action element, the writers did well to present a number of somewhat unrelated short stories that ultimately culminated into a single theme at the end. Rather clever.

Vampire Knight is a good anime. Not really the best for me, but it's good enough for me to rewatch it again.
