Nice job on the compositions. Keep at it and you'll get even better the more you practice and try mimicking other styles of music. Don't forget to stray out of your comfort zone once in a while to broaden your horizons. =)
Is that an electric piano (based on slight timbre variances, I'm suspecting it is, but I could be wrong). If it is electric, do you plug it straight into the computer to record, or do you mic it? I'm just wondering how you're able to get such good (noiseless) recording quality. I'm guessing it's an electric plugged into the computer (or other recording device), but please correct me if I'm mistaken.

I have a few issues here:
Don't start off a post by telling us how generally bad a composition is, and how you're on the verge of giving up on composing altogether. It discourages people from telling you how to improve a piece, which, frankly, is the only way you're going to learn how to be a better composer. Yeah, don't say stuff like, "I'm aware of the mistakes," because odds are, you're not. That's assuming that you have a level of knowledge equal to or greater than the hundreds of people who could potentially listen to your piece. And let's be honest, that's unrealistic. There are graduates in composition on this site. And don't be intimidated by that. They're nice guys, and we all need the help.
So, for everyone's benefit, I'm going to ignore all the self-degradation and talk about your compositions.
My favorite piece is "Longing for You." There are a lot of crap piano compositions out there, and what sets yours apart are your harmonies. I like that you don't slavishly force the accompaniment to fit perfectly with the melody. You allow some dissonance, and I like that. There are also some moments of genuine beauty in your melody.
But the danger of any impromptu is that it will wander aimlessly, and friend, yours does. This feels like the raw material that should become a fantastic composition. I recommend taking the highlights of each piece and working on expanding them into something greater.
Also, a word about music and being an amateur musician. You don't have to be John Williams or Lang Lang for music to affect your life in a meaningful way. I may never record or perform anything from Bach's cello suites, but learning to play them has so enriched my life. Let it be about the music, and not the prestige of the hall or the size of the audience.

i think they are very nice pieces. i dip my feet in the improv from time to time, but many of the times my melodies and rhythms are similar to one another. but yours seem to have its own characteristic. what did you learn exactly when you took lessons?

For a whole year taking piano lessons every week I learned to read sheet music.
And.. To learn read sheet music, and some other things.. like scales, etc but that's it
I learn on my own Basic music theory
That's probably why I stopped my Piano lessons.. i was thinking of going to a good place and keep learning more about Piano and composing/ music theory or whatever you might want to call it, but lately I have been feeling sad and depressed, you might say i lost my "spark" or "inspiration"

hmmm. i'm sure there are handful of people in this place who probably went through the same thing. feeling non inspiring and stuff usually happens when you don't know what you need to learn. you have the hunger for it but you don't know what you're craving for. maybe you should find a piano piece that you might like to learn.

I do have one, but it's out of my league, it's too soon for me yet, I also was thinking of triying to challange Nocturne op 9 no 2 / chopin, but I think that one it's hard for me too

Most pieces can be within your grasp if you're willing to do the work to figure out fingering and to take the time to drill it. Subtleties come with years of lessons, but for learning to compose, that's not necessarily a big deal at the moment.

Yeah, being bummed about the art and your ability to produce/perform it is the life-companion of musicians. Tchaikovsky always thought he was losing his gift and would never be able to write again. Turns out, he did compose: over and over again.

It seems you may have missed my post. I'd appreciate it if you'd go back and read it.
I'd be very much interested in hearing you share with us what your piano and recording setup are.

Sorry I didn't miss it, i though i replied, but seems like i just did in my mind
It's not an electric piano it's a grand piano and i recorded the sound with a Zoom H2.

Thanks, your words cheered me up a little bit, i think you're right. if i keep on making music, i might make something wonderful someday and inspire someone or make someone relax and enjoy the pleasure of music

Oh, wow. The sound was so even and consistent, and also the lack of background noise, led me into thinking it was unlikely to be an acoustic piano, but as you've pointed out, I was mistaken. That must be one good microphone.
Thanks for sharing. =)

^Bull! Are you serious? That was acoustic, and you did it with that dinky little thing?! I MUST HAVE ONE!!!!!
Also, to further aid you on your quest to not worry about how "good" you are and to just enjoy music, I looked up a quote from my buddy Søren Kirkegaard. I don't know if you believe in God or not. If you don't just replace it with "infinity" and the quote works just as well:
"But in being himself he [an individual in general] is not dependent upon the multitude, before God he is himself. For from ‘the others,’ naturally, one properly only learns to know what the others are—it is in this way the world would beguile a man from being himself.”
Moral of the story:
Forget the "others." You only get a small part of the picture if you compare yourselves to them. You only find out who you truly are in the presence of God/infinity/pure music.
Hope you enjoyed today's reading in Danish philosophy! :)

Yes, yes, if i compare myself to others i will only think of me as small , but if i compare to the impossible i will be only myself, regardless of how much of that impossible i can reach.
I will continue on making music and learning more, if i ever get stuck again my only consolation will be that there are many more years to come for me, It's not even my second, I can reach out more!
Yes!

OMG, I thought I was going to have a seizure looking at that video. Calm down on those bouncies and flashies. I like the mood the piece invokes, though, despite the images.
I bought that mic, by the way. Have not been disappointed.

it's very good, it has 4 mics inside, it all depends on the way you put it, and sometimes i do edit the sound a little but yep.

hey mate hows it been havn't spoken to u in ages but thought i would just say some things on your Composition
so u know i dont know much music theory or anything about composer i just like playing piano and like listening to it. and this is why i like rirko prelude, i like listening to songs that u can really hear that are shouting out emotion and this is one of them. i love trying to figure out what the composer is trying to show in their music. and the types of feelings i get from piano music. so i cant give u any advice on your Composition but from what i hear i think its a beauitful song that has alot of emotion in it. so great job mate keep it up aye =)
