Anyways, chartfag's isn't out yet, but neregate has a preliminary fall list out already, so here it is.

Though discussion for it may be a bit early with Summer only halfway through :heh:

Thanks Christopher for the resize tip, and this as well:

Just copy and paste this code into the post to make the chart a bit more manageable:

It'll look like this:

This season looks a bit promising in my opinion. I've been waiting for Sora no Otoshimono's 2nd season as well as Index's 2nd season, it still feels emptier than last Fall's season though, but oh well.

Looking forward to TWGOK; though an anime adaption will either be good, or really really bad.

I'm wondering what they're gonna do with Bakuman - I mean, on manga the stories flow somewhat, but how could they make a manga about making manga (a metamanga :P) that just has a lot of people talking into an anime? I don't imagine it'll be very interesting to listen to them talk about manga ratings all day.

Some interesting looking ones on there. Especially Mirai Nikki. I hope I can make time for them, because fall is my favorite season for TV shows. HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, Chuck, The Office and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

I saw a trailer on YouTube showing that they're going to have not just the Iron Man anime, but the Wolverine anime too.

But a manga about drawing manga will work; will an anime about drawing manga work? :/

That would actually be kind of... not interesting... UNLESS, they make the viewers draw better, then yeah. >:3

Maybe they'll change it - Anime about making Anime?!

Anyway.. apart from Index 2 and Bakuman; any good ones I should also keep an eye out for? (I'm thinking on the lines of ones that were good manga/novels).

Ef has someone like that. Doujin Works is purely about that.

My little sister can't be this cute!

Why can't they make the protagonist not a nerd for once, like they did in I love my younger sister (http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=3318)?

Brother sister incest isn't just some corny fantasy. When it's done right, it can be an incredibly moving story that tells the passions and hardships of an absolutely forbidden love.

*sigh*

Wait, is it out?

IIRC Hyakka Ryoukan's out, Panty & Stocking's trailer is out (it's Gainax, but... :V I probably won't watch it, looks too weird), but nothing else... right?

ChristopherArmalite

Not yet, only Hyakka Ryoukan is out as of right now (it got an early pre-release I guess)

So I just noted down the ones I'll be watching...looks like I'll be following 16 different shows XD

Hah, I doubt I'll follow more than 5 this season. Not because they suck (they don't!), but I just don't have time any more...

ooo Bakuman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwuWlGrr84k) will be airing soon...
but after watching the promo, I still prefer their VOMIC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1JtaiPbZvQ) voice actors :\

So... after watching the first two episodes of just about everything, I conclude Squid Girl is the best series this season. :)

Just got done watching Shiki, MM!, Ore no Imouto, The World God Only Knows, Otome Youki Zakuro, and Yosuga no Sora.

Ore no Imouto (4/5)
Stellar series with personality issues. I loved the way how it was portrayed, but this anime falls in the ruts when you actually see how the brother and sister react after so many episodes of abuse. They tried so hard to make Kirino a TsunDere (Bitter-then-Loving) that they actually made her a TsunTsun (Bitter-and-Bitter). I would have liked to see a bit more concern to Kyousuke and notice, as his actions would normally be more noticed in real life. Although, I can highly relate to this anime since I was ostracized by my obsession toward anime in a similar way that Kirino was, and I ended up in a position similar to Ruri Gouko (Kuroneko/Black Cat). While the anime didn't do the novel justice, I do think that it was a pleasant break from the usual otaku-harem anime that has been released in the past.

Shiki (4/5)
I have to say that Shiki was the first anime in a long time that actually knew how to properly handle large character casting. At the end of the show, I could remember everyone from the village, and most characters had enough screentime to allow you to relate to them. In this sense, this anime the proper successor to Bokurano. I can't say much for the plot. They completely went to the left with things and transformed the horror/thriller into gore/thriller; and changed perspectives in the middle of the show. Lots of clichés and cheesy moments and generally there was no growth with the characters in the series. The last two episodes won't be coming out for a while, as they're reported to be OADs; but the anime does have a somewhat successfully done ending. I really did like the philosophy they used for this anime, as it shows the many edges of an argument, although it was quite difficult to follow at times due to the occasional non-linear timeline.

MM! (3/5)
MM! was a little odd. It had a lot of good moments, but at the same time, it was terribly generic. The major theme of it was that everyone has a fetish, and it's okay to have them. While I saw this pretty clearly, it generally lead down to a track of why and why not. The only character who's fetish was accurately explained, in my opinion, was Arashiko. All the others just seemed far fetched. Mio's was never really explained, although hinted at. All in all, though, I was saddened that the anime came to an end. I was itching to watch just one more episode after I finished watching the last. It successfully made me addicted without making me frustrated or giving off the feeling that it was annoying.

The World God Only Knows Season 1 (2/5)
Bland. This anime tries to be over the top, but usually results in a generic outcome. While the concept of the anime is unique, I can't help but be bored with it every episode. It does lots of good stuff to support the Galge industry, such as showing how the games are not all that far fetched from the real world activities, yet at the same time, it does it far too awkwardly for my tastes.

Otome Youkai Zakuro (2/5)
This anime is also slightly bland, as it doesn't explain itself at all. It feels like a spiritual version of Valkyria Chronicles meets Natsume Yuujinchou. I can't say that I particularly enjoyed or would like to rewatch the anime, but it was slightly original in concept. The Half-Spirits were odd in of the fact that they were all fox-deities and the distinct lack of any half-spirits that was anything else. In fact, that was slightly frustrating, as I was waiting for it to happen. The romance was generally pure and the story light hearted. It did it's job by entertaining me, but I doubt I'll watch the series again.

Yosuga no Sora (1/5)
This is a hentai anime with some story attached to it. It feels like there's only three songs written for it (you WILL get sick of the violin theme after three episodes), the plot likes to reset itself unexplained, and there's frequent acts of sex after the weak willed protagonist does something that makes the flavor-of-the-day happy. I'm extremely disappointed with the execution of this series, since the game got many good marks and the artistic style was refreshing.

Opinions yet to come:
Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt
Star Driver
Shinryakku Ika Musume
Sora wo Otoshimono: Forte
Fortune Arterial (link)

Fortune Arterial ( 3/5 )
This show is quite typical from the Galge/Visual Novel/manga generas -- a story of vampires in a school whom try to live side-by-side with humans -- but rarely is it done well when translating it to anime form. Fortune Arterial is an example of what happens when someone tries their best to keep to the original story from those other mediums and attend to the parts that were originally lacking from their original mediums, such as music, voice actors, and abbreviated plots. The anime was quite enjoyable from the harem-like opening arc to the mid arc which explains the situations of each of the characters, to the stressful and bitter-loved closing arc. While the story *is* atypical to the vampire legends, it does focus a lot on a field that is rarely explained in the legends: a vampire's relation to a human, and their prospective of how they're viewed. Even though the story was designated toward the Galge crowd (thus, having a harem of women), it's commendable to state that by doing so, they injected a stern plot which can offer up these questions and attempt to answer them. The only thing I disliked about the plot, actually, was the profound hyperfocus on characters, similar to what Air TV did. When you're dealing with one character's history, that's all you're getting. It's like the continuum of life only follows a serial line where only one problem can exist at a time.

The music in this show is utterly fantastic. Takaaki Anzai is a new kid on the block and he has ignored most of the new synth sounds and rapid melody changes and replaced them with more toned down, softer themes. This has a profound effect in the outcome of the songs produced, such as the insert song and main theme by Veil "Red Promise (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-VWBhUF-kE)", and the ending song sung by LIA "I Miss You (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Mfv026vRIs)", they both leave highly memorable impressions on a person. I quite enjoyed every moment of the music.

So why the three? Well, ultimately, this anime hasn't done anything new, and while it's rewatchable, there's a lot of resistance to the harem aspect of the story. If they removed that and made the story more of a waltz between the partners with parallel stories, it'd get a four.
