I play the sax and I stop playing for a long time. I mean like 8 years. How long would it take be to get back to playing well. If I start back would I be like a little kid playing for the first time.

Well, it depends on how much you can still remember after 8 years. For instance, can you still play all those normal notes like C,D,E,F,G,A,B on your sax? Secondly, can you still remember how to read notes on the sheet music? Thirdly, can you adjust to the tempo at which the sax music is to be presented?. If you can play a simple melody perfectly for at least one minute, that's a good sign that you can recover your musicality. If you can't, then you simply need to refresh your understanding of the aforementioned basic concepts, accompanied with a bit of diligent practice.
The most important thing when starting back after a long break is having a really keen interest in wanting to learn sax music. The more sincere you are in regaining your passion for sax music, the more you will enjoy re-learning sax, and the better/faster you will pick up again.
