Hi, everyone, I was just wondering if anyone can suggest a microphone for recording.
I checked on the net, and the price range from £10-100, and I didn't know which one to get.
As the recording will be done in normal environment, so I want the background noise eliminated as mush as possible.
Thanks in advance

Try this (http://www.tweakheadz.com/microphones_for_the_home_studio.htm)
Lots of good info, and also you can find a list of recommended/cheap microphones.

I wish to record myself singing to mix with existing mp3 and produce a close to professional level of product so that I can submit it to different companies as promotion. I wish to hear what master brncao has to recommend!

For general recording in a semi-controlled environment I'd recommend the MXL 990, but for the best balance of noise reduction and sound quality it has to be the Shure SM58.

When we play live in my band Holywell we use Shure SM58 microphones. We also record vocals using the same microphones and get a decent quality recording, so you probably can't go far wrong with SM58. I noticed that many bands use the very same microphones when playing live, even the big rock festivals seem to set up with them and for less then $100 I'd recommend it.

Don't forget the other components of the audio chain because mic isn't the only thing you should solely focus on. There's the mic preamp and ADC (analog-to-digital converter). I'm no expert in the kind of mics you should get, but the internet provides vast information on this. Tweak's website and gearslutz come to mind (check out their forums).
