Hi, I'm a (relatively) new composer.
Anyway, right now I'm working on my composing skills by using crappy SNES sounds, so that any quality from my compositions come from the notes and I don't fuss over which VST to use too much. Anyway, I only have one to show for now, http://www.4shared.com/audio/PvBKQ_V0/SNES_Song_1.html
The actual title is: "An Oath to the Promise". I'll create a higher-quality orchestration later on. :heh:
EDIT: Yes, I did have an account here before under the name "halfangelfreak", but that account's password is long gone.

Hey, I remember you. Or at least the name. I really like the mood of this piece. It feels a little directionless, but that may be because it's only thirty seconds.
Keep it up!

Thanks! Yeah :heh: My pieces may seem a little "directionless" right now, because I'm just practicing writing short melodies. I just now got into the more advanced music theory class and am actually learning stuff to aid in my righting of melodies, but we haven't yet gotten to structuring full songs and transitions at full yet.
Anyway, here's another one, I think the snare line needs work... i'd like some suggestions about that, please.

Yeah, spooky. I don't have any suggestions for the snare line. It sounded a little awkward, but I think that's what you're going for, right?

Well, it's supposed to be spooky.
There's supposed to be a little bit of err... dischordancence (spelling?) but I think it sounds way too awkward compared to the rest of the melody, I think I'll just redo it from scratch.

Interesting idea you have there! It's as if you have a bunch of strong beats going on at once for each part, making it seem awkward. I like it so far - keep at it. :)
