Hello Everyone,

I know that it's been policy since a long time ago that character to character comparisons have not been looked at in the best light here at Ichigos. Today is a day of exceptions. My good friend PorscheGTIII attempted to rebuke a Newtype Poll held in Japan for this month. The reason: Sheryl Nome of Macross Frontier was high on the list (Number 4 to be exact), and Ranka Lee didn't even cut the top-ten.

For those that are unfamiliar with this debate between Porsche and Myself, you would know that I am a proponent of Sheryl Nome, and that Porsche is a a proponent for Ranka Lee. This has driven to many heated arguments typically resolving in my grand benevolence simply letting the matter lay as sleeping dogs do. Today, and argument that was slightly different was had. I took the results of Newtype to Porsche and demanded his surrender of faith in Ranka Lee and to convert his efforts to popularizing Sheryl Nome. Being the deviant that he is, he stated that the Japanese are "weird" and that this survey was slanted.

Thus, we're now at a crossroads. A Deadlock. Damnable to the fourth layer of hell I'm determined to have Porsche admit defeat. This is where You shall come into play.

A voting poll shall be cast. It is the members of Ichigos that will determine which character is the best and finally end this debate that has reoccurred for two years. Is the better character Ranka Lee: The teenybopper idol whom was given her status by chance and only cares about herself? Or is it Sheryl Nome: The space fairy whom rose from the depths of despair and made a name for herself by herself.

You know the right choice.

Ranka Lee FTW! She represents that you don't need to be overly sexual to be successful unlike Sherl Nome who throws hereself out there.

EDIT: And in rebuttle, Ranka was not handed her title by chance, she worked on it fair and square. Sherl Nome on the other hand was given her title becuase some evil woman picked her off the street.

The question is very vague... As far as central plot relevence goes, I think Ranka might have been more important, but it's been too long, and Macross F confused me even right after I watched it.

I find it rather intriguing that anyone from Macross managed to make it that high into the list, since they typically lose within one or two rounds in the Saimoe.

Edit: If Ranka's green squishy phone was an option, I'd definitely vote for that!

Edit2: For the record, I voted for Sheryl, because she annoyed me less.

Isn't this contest moot? Newtype has made it clear that Yui is the star of Macross F.

I have not actually watched that show, so I'm probably not really qualified to weigh-in, but I have seen Ranka in various places, like Youtube, and other media (such as PGT3's avatar and sig, heh), so I guess my unofficial vote goes to her, simply because I'm more familiar with her than with Sheryl. (I have not voted in the poll)
