Okay, so a friend and I have been trying to setup a MineCraft (http://www.minecraft.net) server. However we need to do port forwarding and the tech support and community support from the official forums have been less than useful. So I thought someone *looks at M* might be able to help us.

So basically, the server software is up and running, but its not accepting anyone to join it and all the videos and tutorials we've read through said we need to setup port forwarding in the router/modem. However, we have no clue what to do.

Would be great if anyone could offer any assistance as I know this is not exactly a normal request.

Port forwarding is kinda tricky, because every router does things slightly different.

What make and model router are you using?

Just in case you haven't gotten it yet. (http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Thomson-Alcatel/SpeedTouch530/Minecraft_Server.htm%27)

PortForward.com can be a really useful site sometimes. Hope it helps.

The link is invalid. :\

Also I did browse it, but I couldn't find much to help with this particular router. I would use my router for it easier from what I remember, however I can't remember the log in details for it. :heh:

That's a much more of a fundamental problem than what we may be able to solve. If you didn't change it from the factory defaults, the password is usually written on the router or in the documentation that came with the router. The normal way for you to get to your router's configuration is to open IE or Firefox and type "192.168.0.1" or "192.168.1.1" into the URL field and press enter.

I know how to connect to it, but I didn't know that the password was on it lol. :heh:
I'll try and see if i can get into mine then.
