EAX - Surround Headphones
i got myself a brand new rig to play this game (well not just because of HL2 but it was one of the reasons). I ended up with a Gigabite i915G motherboard; Intel 3ghz 530; only 512 MB dr400 (do i need more?) and PCIe 6600 GT running on a 17 inch lcd (1280x1024 native). It is a low to mid range as everything is new. It runs ok i think but still stutters although this might be a common problem
Anyway my questions:
1) Does HL2 support EAX - I have the game but not yet checked whether there is this option as I dont yet have surround speakers. At the moment just using stero speakers.
2) Awhile back I played with EAX on a couple of games on a friends rig, and it made a HUGH difference, so if HL2 does support EAX I am considering surround headphones (y, headphones) as I dont have room for speakers, which brings me to:
3) Any recommendations for surround headphones. I think that the motherboard comes with 7.1 surround built-in so all I need are headphones only, no decoder necessary - something like the Zalman's?
