Hey, I'm wasdiop and I'm new here. I hope you don't mind a couple of questions =P.

So, like the title says, are there any transcriptors on the site who can transcript to drum sheet music?

And my other question is, I was reading the rules and it said to only request anime or game music. Am I allowed to request vocaloid sheet music?

Thanks for your time, and I hope I can fit in well in the community! :)

Yes we can do vocaloid music. I've done a couple before. We can do drum transcriptions, but it's just that I've never seen a drum transcriber here. I've never seen how a drum notation might look on paper (though a quick google search might answer that). Can you transcribe? You can check the stickied thread "How to transcribe music." Lucky you, you don't need to transcribe for pitch; just rhythm. Simply slow it down and break it up into parts.

No, I can't transcribe music. I did read the how to thread though it seemed complicated. Is transcribing easy?

Thanks for the reply :)

I assume you can read sheet music right? When you read sheet music, do you know how the rhythm goes? Can you tell what a "four on the floor" kick bass rhythm sounds like by just hearing it and be able to put that onto paper? It's all rhythm really.

Download audacity. There's a tool that can slow the song down. First transcribe one measure at a time. Focus only on one drum or cymbal at a time. ie. kick drum, snare, open hi-hat, closed hi-hat, toms, etc. If you're really a drummer, then you should be able to distinguish the sound characteristics of these instruments. You're at an advantage than the rest of us because you have a drum kit. Play along with the music! Btw, if you can grab the instrumental/off vocal version of the song, that's a big plus. Vocaloid doesn't have that many :(

Transcribing is hard for those who are really impatient. The good part though, is that I don't have to rely on others when I want a song done.

Edit: Here's an mp3 of the drumkit from God Knows (the melancholy of suzimiya haruhi) I transcribed several years ago. Use it to train yourself. I suggest placing this next to the original soundtrack in audacity and trying to transcribe it without looking at the answer key. You can mute and unmute the drumkit mp3 during training if you're not sure. Once you're comfortable with this, you can do this for any songs in the future. Drum tabs are extremely hard to find in the anime genre. Say... you could start a website dedicated to anime drum tabs:P

Wow I never knew you played drums. Drumkit right (not the snare drum from marching band or orchestra)? Is there actually a standard notation for drumkits?

Thanks guys x)

I'm just a beginner drummer, I started just recently so I don't think I am able to start transcribing yet, although when I am more experienced I'll be sure to give it a try.

Mazeppa, when I have the time I'll send you the request through PM.

Yeah, it's been a recent...actually when I think about it, over 2 years...endeavor that I've had the time to pick up on my own. Got a free kit from a family member who moved far, far away and couldn't take his third kit with him... haha! Since I was a kid, I was a drummer at heart, but the piano came before I could get a real drum kit :)
