If i downloaded a sheet transcribed by some one else and added a part
For example: Download a piano sheet... added violin part and harmonized the piano a bit
Would it be considered taking someones else work for myself or can a just give credit to the other person and be done?

Under Fair Use, you can technically do that, but you may not make profit or call it your "unique" work (you must give attribution to the original writer). Not sure about the rule in music, but in writing if you reuse over 20% of the original work, it is plagiarism to not cite the source as a quote.

The proper thing to do is contact the original transcriber and let them know that you're gonna add onto it, and give them credit for being the original transcriber. Something like,

Original Transcriber: Name
Arrangement: Name2

But if the song doesn't belong to the original transcriber (like an anime sheet music on Ichigos), you can technically get away with it if it's not completely obvious that you used another transcription...

If it was to Ichigos.com, send an email or PM to Gand (http://forums.ichigos.com/member.php?2283). He's the webmaster of the main site.
