Hello everyone! Nice to meet you all

I'm in need of some help, because when it comes to stuff like this I feel completely useless.

I really want to be able to turn the sheet music that I have into midi songs. So I can convert them for my nephew to play on the program called Synthesia.

I'm not necessarily looking for an easy fix. More so something I can convert manually note by note with my mouse? (I'm not sure the best way to go about it)

I looked at the sticky's and I found some very useful information. I just don't know where to start!

If any of you could point in me in the right direction, that would be wonderful! I promise not to bombard you with questions afterwards. Because I don't mind learning how to use a program so long as it's the right program I should be using!

thank you so much for reading this

You can use Reaper's Piano roll to insert all the notes to export them as a MIDI file.

http://reaper.fm/index.php

Or Use a notation software like Muse Score: http://musescore.org/ where you can notate the sheet music and export it as a MIDI file. (Crash warning)

Or you can use Lylipond: http://lilypond.org/

I would use Reaper, I think it would be the faster method to notate the midi notes.

Those are all great suggestions.

You might try Anvil Studio (http://www.anvilstudio.com/) as well. Fairly simple to hop right in and use. Has a staff (sheet music) viewer and piano roll, so you can choose either interface.

Notes are entered using the virtual on-screen piano. One thing you need to know is, when using it, you need to hold down the shift key at the same time as clicking a note on the piano in order to make harmonic intervals and chords.
