Alright, I've been using sibelius 6 for a while now, and I love most of the instruments except, unfortunately for me, one critical one.
Does anyone know where i can find a sound set with realistic sounding guitar in it? I'm hating the sound that came with it, and haven't found any good sound sets so far. If you can help, that's be awesome. ^^

It's very difficult to get a decent-sounding electric guitar sample/VSTi/AU/etc. A lot of people will just tell you to get an electric guitar and learn it.

Read through this thread (http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=32670) if you want to see what options you have available, besides learning to play the real thing.

Acoustic or Electric guitar? Are you after a rhythmic guitar or a lead guitar?

If budget is not a problem and if you can create a Sibelius sound set from a VST (I have no idea of that), I will suggest Prominy's guitar: http://prominy.com/ These are just amazing!

Shreddage electric guitar is just rhythmic, but it is really amazing for its small price. Zircon is working in a continuation of it, if I remember well.

Ministry of Rock 2 offer good options of electric guitars (leads & chords), plus basses and drums. I have MOR 1 and it is quite decent (Except the acoustic chord guitar).

Vir2 offer acoustic and electric guitar separately which are quite huge. The electric one is not so much of my liking and feels mechanic, but it has its own personality.

OTS has really cool guitars: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/

A cheap and good acoustic guitar is the Idiginus' guitar:

http://www.indiginus.com/agc.html (I have this one and has a better timbre than my crappy acoustic guitar, lol).

Keep in mind I do not have Sibelius and I do not know how can be made a sound set for Sibelius or if Sibelius can support VST. Also if you select any that need Kontakt, you will have to buy that separately. Do a research about that before buy anything.

If you can't afford anything. Look for soundfonts:

The same can be said with all sampled instruments.

The thread I linked to gives suggestions for both. I find it a little bit strange that you're mostly repeating the suggestions that were already in that thread over on OCR, like Prominy/Shreddage, and Ministry of Rock, etc. O_o *scratching head*

Well, I guess it's good that you're adding more detail about the suggestions.

True, but most people with lots of experience (like the guys over at OCR) would say guitars are special (lol, they might be biased). But you're right, it can be tough to get a decent sample of any instrument. I suppose it depends on the instrument, because some truly do not have many good samples out there, especially some of the world/ethnic ones, although new samples are being released for those all the time (like Koto Nation, as an example).

I did not look that thread deeply, I did see Prominy and Shreddage mentioned there.

Another rhythmic electric guitar that is very cheap is the one of cinesample. But that one sounds too... s
