I noticed that the forum shows how many people are active- I was just wondering what made someone class as active xD. My guess is it's to do with how long the person hasn't logged on for?

You are active when you are surfing the forum. If you are not logged in you will appear as a "guess", if you are logged in then your name will appear in the list below Currently Active Users.

I meant from this bit:

Threads 13,559
Posts 318,623
Members 75,553
Active Members 9,082

There are 9,082 active members, but what's the criteria for being an active member? :P

Your guess is as good as mine.

My gut feeling tells me that "active" people are people who have ever posted since the beginning (2004), whereas the others just sign up to gain access to attachments.

By the way, welcome!

Ooh, possibly :)
I was thinking that perhaps it's people who've logged on within the past week or so, or some sort of time period anyway xD.
Thanks very much :D, how're you today?

According to the vBulletin admin page: "A member is considered 'active' if they have visited the board within the number of days specified in 'Active Members Time Cut-Off'."

I have no idea what this cut-off is set to right now but there you go :P Anyone who's logged in within the last X days is considered an active member.

It's set to 90 days right now, so this is every user that has ever logged in or registered in the past 90 days.

It's kind of a meaningless number really XD

my god hows this forums changed and in this one thread alone so many original members who were hardly ever on :D, well we did say we'd start being less active as we're getting older, im too busy trying to be an "adult" lol damn i have a full time well paid job, just saving to get a house of my own now. I only came on here because ive been slacking badly on anime and this place is the best for recommendations on latest anime so thought id see what you guys would say. i see moderators have switched around too!

Yeah, much of the former forum user-base has aged, so the hope is to get an infusion of fresh younger members in their mid- to lower-teens. So, hopefully the older members who are still hanging around can be welcoming and friendly to the younger folks. Let's guide them with a gentle hand. =)

If they like this place, then maybe they'll tell their peers in real-life and elsewhere on the net about it too.

Yeah, I used to go here. The reason I'm not an active member(This would be users who post frequently in my book.) here nowadays is because the forum has changed so much and isn't what it was. However I pop by now and again to see how it's doing though. I do miss it.

Wow, I see that the last post you made before this one was on December 21st, 2007, so it really has been a while. So are you considering coming back?

If you do happen to try sticking around, please consider helping to guide new members and give them encouragement when they share things, whether self-it be introductions, or their art, music, or writings. =)

I think new members (and perhaps returning old members like yourself) are the future of this forum.

Well, regardless of whether you stay or decide to depart again - Welcome Back! =)

Hmm, I'll think about it.

I'm not really sure what else I could add to this forum that hasn't already been given.

Your very presence, as well as posting something every once in a while, seems to me like it would be beneficial to the forum.

But, I'm sure you'll think about it and you'll do as you wish, so no pressure. =)
