Oh my goodness! It's been about seven years since I've been consistently active. I started thinking about all the friends I miss here and decided to come back. Anyone here remember me at all?

For those who don't know me, I'm Nikky. Used to just go by LS around the boards back in the day. I live in Texas and I'm getting too old. I'm super nice but very opinionated and I love to debate. I hope I get to meet more people while I'm here. It'd be nice to be active again :)

Yep, that's me! Though it should be pastry making woman, haha. I'm old now.

Ah, the good ol' days.

Indeed the good ol' days! What happened around here?

Let's not get stuck in the memories of the old days and let's make a new future for Ichigo's with a lot of passion and love! \(゚∀゚ )/

Welcome back.

7 years huh? Well, good to have you back.

Do you watch anime at all these days? Do you play any instruments?

Well, if we get more returners like yourself, then maybe we can work towards that goal of greater activity. =)

Maybe it's because you were younger back then and there were more kids active? A lot of people are older now, so maybe that's part of it.

I haven't been around here a long time, but I'll bet the average age of this forum's members is 5 years older now, than it was during your time. So if the average age back then was 13, 7 years ago, then if you average all the active member's ages now, it's more like 18 or 19. This is just a guess on my part. Heck, might be even higher than that for all I know.

As far as anime goes, I love Cowboy Bebop. Outlaw Star. Azumanga Daioh. I'm working my way through Hetalia. Just finished Fullmetal Alchemist. I own Pretear but I've only gone through it once. Oh, I also like Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, Princess Jellyfish, and Toradora! That's all I can think of right now.

I've played clarinet for fifteen years and sax for thirteen.

When I was around, the ages really varied. We did have younger kids who were 13-15; I was 18. But we also had a decent amount of people in their early 20's. As far as being personal and silly, I just remember their being a lot more forum games and personal threads. We all really knew each other and what our daily lives were like. Maybe most of us did just grow up. I know I did. I mean, I am 25 so it's safe to say I'm not the same person I was when I was 18. I guess people don't have the time as adult to be as active as they used to be. It's a shame. I had fun. I'm lucky enough to work from home and make my own rules so I obviously have a lot more time to hit the forums than someone who is working a 9-5.

And internet communities seem to be a lot different now. I was pretty active on a lot of sites that have since tanked as things like facebook and twitter came about. There really wasn't a need to be on more than one site. You could keep up with everyone you wanted to on one site and you had the freedom to do and say whatever you wanted without fear of being banned.

Oh yeah, I saw some of the ones that aired on Cartoon Network back in the day, like Trigun, Bebop, Full Metal Alch, Inuyasha, etc.

That must've been over 4 or 5 years ago now. Darn, I'm old too. heh =)

I'm working my way through Hetalia.
I watched that a couple years ago. I used to watch each ep as it came out, but by the time I got to like, episode 60, I got bored of it and quit watching, heh. X-D

Do you have any favorite countries or, ahem, favorite pairings? XD

Toradora was good. It's been a couple years since I saw it though.

Cool. Sax: Alto? Tenor?

Oh, bad things tended to happen in the one really long general chat thread. It was locked in like January or so. People were argumentative and uncivil over trivial stuff. Anyway, that's in the past. It's a past I think we're trying to move away from right now. Sort of "reboot" the forum into a friendlier, less hostile place.

Here's your chance to get reacquainted. =)

Ah, please be active when you get a chance then. People being active encourages activity from others.

Also please report discourtesy between members if you ever see it. The only way to keep this place friendly is to enforce the peace at the first sign of trouble. So yeah, feel free to use that "Report" icon in the lower left if you think it's ever really necessary. There's almost always at least one mod on at any given time, due to time zone staggering.

Thankfully, trouble is rare these days, so you might never even witness argument, hopefully.

And internet communities seem to be a lot different now. I was pretty active on a lot of sites that have since tanked as things like facebook and twitter came about.
Yep. it's exactly as you say. Forums have been supplanted by Facebook and other mass-networking sites. Which makes sense, since, for example, almost no one in my family would ever come to a forum like this, but almost all of them are on Facebook. So yeah... Facebook doesn't depend upon the person's specific interests (in the case of this forum, those interests being anime, vg, and music, etc).

Coincidentally, I think a lot of forumers here are on facebook and/or twitter. That might be a good way to reconnect and stay connected with current crowd.

I haven't watched it enough to have favorites yet. I've made it through about six episodes.

I've played alto, tenor, and bari. But my favorite to play is tenor.

Oh, I see. That's too bad. It used to be a lot of fun!

I'll try to be as active as possible. I may be taking a second job to supplement my job from home, but I'll still be home a lot, especially on weekends. I'm too old to party anymore haha.
