I wasn't on here for helluva time, but I kinda missed it, so I'm back. Hurray! XD

Well, I don't think anyone remembers me around here. So here's a few words about me:

I'm from germany, I enjoy both playing and writing music, I play pen&paper roleplaying games and I'm founder of a band and a bassoontrio.

I lately watched Kaiba (amazing anime, I can really recommend it! The soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard.), Mitsudomoe, Azumanga Daioh, Potemayo and Lucky Star. Currently I'm watching K-ON!, Working! and Ichigo Mashimaru.
I'm not playing any anime tunes right now, but I will be playing with my trio on a LAN-session and I'm arranging a lot of classic video game music for that. Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Tetris and stuff :D

hum...how can you play D&D or any p&p-rpg to completion? There is no completion. You can tell a story to an end, then you play a new story with the same chars or form a new group.
Well, I like to play magical characters. Even if it's a pain in the ass when you play DSA (a german RPG, you may know it as The Dark Eye). It's too complex in many rules but it has the greatest background story I've ever seen in an RPG. The history of Aventurien goes back over 2000 years of recorded history writing and even further back if you consider the mythological creation of the world (what would be 2.000.000 years before year 0) and that is only the history of one continent of five!
The games I play and played are DSA, as mentioned above, AD&D, Scion, Call of Cthulhu, Feng Shui, Vampire - The Masquerade, Shadowrun and a game a friend of mine invented. It's called gambit. You don't roll dice but you draw pokercards in order to do checks. It's still a work in progress, but it's coming along nicely.

Oh yay a DnD gamer. I've never had the chance to get into it, But I do have a huge pile of miniatures from the painting and wargaming sides of the hobby.

well, you don't neccessarily need miniatures, at least not for the newer editions. But I must say, DnD is not particularly my favourite rpg-system. Not much space for individuality in creating ones character.

What RPG would you recommend for introducing a newbie into the scene?

well, depends a bit on the genre you like.

It would help to tell me a bit about you: What do you like? How did you get the idea to try out rpgs? Is there a certain aspect that interests/fascinates you about it? Are you more into action or telling stories?

P.S.: I asked my brother for help to answer your question. It's not the easiest to answer^^. I believer he can provide better advice, for he plays longer than me, knows more systems than me and almost all of them much better than me XD, he got me to play rpgs^^
