i wasn't really sure where to stick this, so i decided to try the composition thread.
i stumbled across a midi for dolls by rin kagamine, and so i decided to try transcribing a quartet for it. I'm pretty much done, except I'm adding in stuff to make it better, and plus, I need help on making it better. I don't play viola or cello, so i know a lot of the stuff in those two lines need working on. could people help me out to make it easier on those two instruments? because the cello and viola are crossing strings like crazy and some chords might be hard to play :(
thanks to any one who helps me out!

Hello!

I'd be willing to take a look at what you have, but my version of Finale is older than yours so I cannot open your music file. Would you be able to post a MIDI and a PDF of your score?

Hm, let me guess. You're working from a midi piano arrangement?

actually, the score has about 4 different parts, so it was tricky to try and balance the tone and all ^_^''

OK. Let me ask you this. Is there any specific reason Violin I has to double Violin II at the octave? Or how about the Cello, does it have to be playing those arpeggios?

there's not really any reason for doubling at the octave so i might get rid of it, but i'm trying to find a way to avoid the apeggios like maybe just going back down again instead of crossing strings so much.

Because then you could do something like this... 13707

See how I put the pedal tone in the cello line and then infered what notes I could use from the original arpeggios?
