Sequel to American McGee's: Alice.

I'm going to buy it this weekend, I fell in love with the first game some years ago and I'm excited for them to have finally released a sequel.

I want this. But I also want Duke Nukem Forever. And I'm out of money at the moment since I just bought a new TV :P

So far from what I've read DNF has received horrible reviews, even from diehard fans.

Which is sad, because I liked the series. :(

Hopelefully the new Alice is good. I feel bad for my poor dad. He's all psyched up about DNF, because Duke 3D was like the last shooter he really played. He's talking about buying a new PC to run it and everything, and the game is doing horribly in reviews, averaging less than a 5/10. I hope he enjoys it anyway. I'm gonna refrain from telling him how badly it's faring right now, so hopefully he can get some enjoyment out of it if he goes into it without any negative preconceptions. =(

He's been waiting for a new Alice for awhile too, though. So hopefully that's good at least. XD
Honestly, though...I played through the demo for DNF and the first level of the actual game, and it doesn't seem too bad to me. I think the reviewers are being overly harsh on it, because it features girls being impregnated by aliens...which, while mildly tasteless, isn't especially offensive to me. I watched the level to see what they were all flipping out about, and there are things a thousand times worse shown constantly in horror movies and such. Stupid reviewers overreacting, I think. In response to your link, Para, some of the reviews I read were pretty much personally insulting the intelligence/maturity/integrity of the game designers, which is pretty ridiculous, no matter how bad a game is. I'd be pissed too, and that guy behaved a lot more maturely than I would have, with the long apology letter he ended up putting out there, hahah.

Edit: Anddddddd Alice is averaging at a 70% right now too. Fuuuuu.
I feel bad for my dad. He should've gotten hooked on series with a more solid sort of longevity attached to them, like I did. =(

PC version is holding at 79% on Metacritic. Which is what I'm gonna buy... cause PC version > console versions. ;)

American McGee did a fantastic job with the story the first time. I heard rumor that he was going to make a movie of Alice's Tales Underground based off of the twisted world of the game. I was freaking excited, only to find out that Tim Burton and Linda Woolverton were doing it instead of McGee. This game will likely fill the void that this news left for me.

I loved playing Duke Nukem as a kid.... I was going to buy an XBox just so I could play the new game, haha... All I'm hearing is bad reviews too, though. But.. I never really thought the older games were that special either, I just had a childhood attachment to them. So I dunno, maybe the game would be good by my standards!!

I want to pick it up but I'm afraid I won't have enough money for my Catherine pre-order. Such a shame too, ever since I did a dissertation on Alice in Wonderland for an English class, I've been wondering where I can get ahold of the first game...then I find out that there's a sequel and it just came out XD

I shall see if I can get ahold of it this weekend!
