i was just wondering how do you feel when your composing music. Like for example bach did some of his greatest work when he was depressed. on the other hand beetoven did some of his when he was angry. So i was just wondering if you did the same as they did. To tell the truth i did several of my best when i was depressed or angry

I'm always in a really good mood when writing music. Hehe, sometimes I go a bit hyper even. ^_^

I think, if we're honest, overall, the main thing people feel is relaxed as if some one is not relaxed, they agitated and can't concentrate, thus, can't compose.

It really depends on my mood. And my music reflects my mood at the time.

It really does depend, both on what the day's been like (I can't get to the piano until almost 7 in the evening sometimes), and what I want to compose.
I usually have alot of really simple, kind of dark pieces, although that might just be because it's me. :heh:

i best compose when i'm either angry or depressed becasue i find composing like a way to express and when your angry you have allot to express

Hm, seems to me like most people compose to reflect their mood...

I'll start composing when I'm in any mood, if I happen to have a good idea at the time. If I manage to spit out something decent within a few minutes of sitting down, my mood will become very... well, focused, if you wanna call that a mood. I'll feel great during that time, but if you dare to interrupt me I suddenly become very angry with you.

I'm always stressed when I write, especially when it's due the next day and I have no inspiration so I've got to stay awake all night to finish it. -_- That sort of explains why some of my music reflects my angry/depressed mood. XD

i dont' know how i feel when composing... it's like this:
whenever i get a chance to play, and my hands touch the keys, and start off with a simple chord, then everything just comes through my hands. I just let my hands choose what to play. The funny thing is at the end of playing, i don't remember what i played exactly... until or unless i sit down and actually try to think of composing, i just empty my thoughts and just simply play.

I feel lazy when I compose... That's why my pieces turn out to be utterly disappointing.

I just found out yesterday that when I compose I feel somewhat determined and possotive as well as relaxed!

I may feel happy or depressed when I start something, but I always step away from it and then approach it objectively. However, lots of angry/spooky stuff I've written came around when I was totally calm.
