Well, after all, why not me too ^_^

I will also share with you some of my compositions, more or less old, more or less successful and more or less developed.
Also, as I think music can be a reflection of the personality of the composer, this will allow you to better discover me :)

I start with this: "Ellipse temporelle" (ellipse time) (http://www.box.net/shared/y6f6y73dm3s2qv3qfocy)
This is precisely an order for a musical theater troupe. It was needed a background music accompanying a passage where the actors declaim a text in relation to the time which shatter and go. Of course, the length of the piece is part of requirements.

Also, after a short introduction that recalls the chimes and clocks ringing, synthetic pads provide the skeleton and the "clothing" of the piece (in fact, they are the piece :D ). Then the chimes come back from time to time. In the end, the song remains neutral and fulfills its function. So, do not feel annoyed if you're bored

Voilą !

If you hear something strange or have review/criticism to do, don't hesitate !

I think I hear a frequent crackling noises. Ooo... the dissipation of the synth sounded cool. It felt really empty all of sudden. It was a short piece so it wasn't that boring.

I find the piece quite relaxing. I don't like the big vibrato in the synthetic sounds, but the rest is well done.

I don't like the big vibrato in the synthetic sounds.

Ah! It's funny, because, I wished to keep this vibrato all the time  . But as the sample does the vibrato itself I can't modify it.

I understand and admit your opinion. At the end, I kept it as is, because i thought it could give some rhythm instead of merging some flat synthetics sounds...

Today I propose 2 musics. They were writen for a short movie.

The director wanted a music to go with a passage, when 2 characters are discussing while each of them is playing at a video game. Some pictures of the movie show that the game is a FPS-like game.

I did 2 versions. The first version (http://www.box.net/shared/ojyh4m2hn4ms79ke8byk) is developped with a strong melodic line. This version doesn't fit the wishes of the director : he said "listeners will pay attention to the music rather than the dialogs between the characters, that is not good". However the director enjoyed very much the music itself.
So I needed to write another music. But, rather than writing another one from scratch, I modified the one I wrote. I kept the mood, changed a little bit the harmonic progression and dropped the melody to get this second version (http://www.box.net/shared/3q7r6se40at43ul2bmxj).

A part of the challenge was also to do what I call "the loop". You know, that is the moment when at end of the music you have (or not) a small transition which leads to the beginning. If it's well done, you keep the attention of the listener or give him illusion that the song never end (without boring him, too XD).

It was a good exercice. With small things I changed the "function" of the music. Because, here, this is what I call a "functionnal music".

What do you think about

This time, it's for a video game (http://www.box.net/shared/248onap1ezod34abt0fc).

In fact, it's a contest. I had to compose a "town's theme". The challenge is to compose a peaceful music so the hero can rest and get strengthen at home.
There was also a challenge for the loop: the music has to loop itself, so the "ending" must go to the "beginning".

I still have 2 or 3 points that annoy me. One of them is the Cello which play a triplet and the sample isn't so good to play it. I have to redo it.
