I like this game, a lot. So far it has been one of my best gaming experiences ever. The world is huge, the weopon arsenal is huge and basically all things, both big and small, make this one of the best MMORPGs to date. There are things that could be improved, but overall I'm glad I pre-ordered it.

my experience with the open beta was very good, there wasnt a moment where i got bored and blizzard made up his name again with their fantastic intro (drool) :drool:

My housemate walked through terrible rainy conditions yesterday to get this game. He was like, "Well from now on, I guess my social life is destroyed." XD Anyways, I like watching him play (and complain) . . everything&#39;s smooth and artistic.

Wow, the graphics look very good. I still haven&#39;t even got my FFXI to work on my PC, so I&#39;m not expecting this to work on my PC either :( Stupid graphics card. For FFXI, I think I&#39;ll have to resort to PS2 with a keyboard. Too bad, though, I can&#39;t do the same with this. It would be nice to be able to do that, but, I&#39;ll have to wait till I get my laptop, and then try it.

Okay, personally I think the graphics suck. Yeah, it&#39;s nice. It&#39;s very newb-friendly and so, but this is not how new revolutionry games of the 2004/5 should look like.

@ Al: If your friend heals himself, then he is a paladin. =] And also, the first 10 levels are indeed repetitive, but once you get over those low-levels, the real deal shows up. Believe me.

they kept the modling graphics low cause it would give you that warcrat III feel, next to that these worlds are so big that every low-lvl PC couldnt handle it if you would make it half life 2 style

That&#39;s no excuse for it. Should gaming companies avoid good graphics beacause low level PC&#39;s won&#39;t handle them so easily? I think not, and this comes from me, who is currently stuck with a slow PC..

Personally I hated WoW during Beta, But I dont know how much it has changed now. From the screenshots it looks promising, but thats most probably taken from a competitive PC with uber fast processecor and high-end graphics card which the majority of us do not have.

I just got into WoW last week at a friend's house. So far, I love it. :w00t: I have a level 13 night elf druid. I would be at a higher level, but my first char. got stuck between two trees as a wisp. I didn't know about the "unstuck" command until close to a week later, so I just went on ahead with the new character that I made.

I play in a realm that starts with v.....I can't remember the name right now. :P Name of Amaltheana. I won't be able to play until I get my own subscription though. :cry:

Just got dragonstalker's helm for my hunter last night when my guild killed Onyxia.

I don't own WW =/ I was actually stuck between Guild Wars and that. Anyone want to point out strong points for me? lol >.<

I've played both (tho not extensively GW made it to lvl 9 I think didnt do much exploring, and WW Im currently at lvl 11 (almost 12 w00t!))

Main diference is $$ with wow you buy the game and then pay for play time (online its 12 euros for a month 35 for 3 and 65 for 6months of unlimited playtime) Im guessing this is for server upkeep etc.. in GW you buy the game and thats it...you play for free 24/7.

The main diference between the games Ive seen is that in GW you can meet people in towns but once you head out into the 'world' the world is generated for your party (you wont be able to meet your friend halfway between towns unless he is in your party) but in wow you can.

If you wanna ask anythin else feel free to PM me or look me up on MSN...or post here I guess

It's true because there are some parts of the world that are blocked off for future content and besides, the dark portal isn't open yet *evil laugh*

But my lvl 60 hunter has seen every part of the world that is open... and even a few parts that aren't :shifty:

I think its possible...well actualy to see the whole world you would have to play the game twice (once from the Aliiance POV and once from the horde's) but its pretty big...I mean really big.

and lookt at the ...region/state? that has the middle castle (if you hover over it it will say dun morogh) getting from side to side of that region/state takes me about...IDK 5 to 10 minutes (estimate..I can measure next time I go)

If you click on the region/state it will tell you the gryphon routes you can take from there ($$$)

As long as its just your graphics card you can play it fine, I tank with an average framerate of 10

Yeah. :heh: I did get stuck between two trees. I was trying to get back to my body with my level 9 night elf druid(wisp form), but I got stuck between two trees somewhere near Starbreeze Village. I didn't know about the "unstuck" command until a week later, so it was a crapload of wasted time wit hanother character when somebody finally told me how to get out of it. :heh: again.

I cancelled my account today cause I didn't want my mom wasting her money on it. Sigh... I wasn't playing it much anyway.

most likely that was a setup ninja loot - the raid leader had it on Free For All loot, meaning anyone and everyone could have looted that boss had they wanted to. If they didn't want the stuff ninja'd they should have had it on Master Looter.

I'd try it if it's free... but it's $60 a month here in NZ, or something insane like that...

umm I think you're mistaken, its like...35 bucks for the game (came with 1 free month for me) and then its like 15-20 bucks a month after that.

Nah, there was an interview with one of the head developers at Blizzard just a few weeks ago; he said the thing he wants to work on most is a Star Craft 2. (A real one, not a Ghost.) He said if they weren't so busy with WoW and other things right now, he'd be doing it already. So we'll see one eventually, haha. He wants to update Diablo also he says, though I don't care about that as much. X3

I've always had a question about the auction house: when you click on a filter (lets say weapon) by accident, but you want to search in all of the fields and not weapon, how do you de-highlight the filter?

to tell you the truth, I never want to get into that game, lol, it seems that everytime someone plays that game, they can never stop. It's like, you wake up one morning and your computer starts talkin to you tellin you to play the game....-.- It's already happened to me with Oblivion, and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (good game by the way).

You'll stop getting addicted once you become level 30. By then, instances are second-nature to you, and quests will become less interesting and more time consuming.

I sort of stopped playing once I hit 40. I got my mount and I was all, "Whoo! I can go faster!!11@!11!!!" But then quests get harder and you're too lazy to level. XD

I dont need a mount! At level 20 I get my ghost wolf form that allows me to travel 40% faster. A mount gives you a 60% movement speed boost, and thats only 20% off. Not big difference!

WoW is just...bleh...I dunnu. I couldn't ever pay to play a game. Diablo was good though (as you know also done by blizzard....thats why it came up). I Do enjoy the card game though. For MMORPG's i play Guild Wars.

To many people give MMORPG's bad names by becoming so obsesed with them that they become hermits and waste thier life...its a bit rediculous. I have lost some good friends to WoW, though that was just because those people were sort of lame to begin with....

Guild Wars isn't an MMORPG in the traditional sense, after you leave a town, if you aren't grouped, you are on your own, or so I hear.

First of all...I -have-played, if only for a few days. Didn't like it. And i don't have to....

And before you leave a town you can create a team or group. then when you leave the whole group leaves together.You can Solo things as well. It just means you can chose to group or not, which I like. Just because you dont' get grouped dosn't mean its not an MMORPG. The definition of MMORPG has been evolving.

I play WoW but I'm not completely obsessed with it- if you can appreciate it without getting addicted then yeah, it's a good game... the best MMORPG out there, I hear. But still, I've *lost* my bro to it so I'm not too keen about playing... I agree with IntegralEin. :) Actually, it seems that they keep telling you that the real fun starts when you get to lvl 70, and since I'm still at 25 I can't possibly understand where all the fun is. :O I don't know... it's fun, it's pretty, it's got great music, but I get pretty bored after a while of doing kill-piggies-for-5-silver quests and travelling all over and joining groups where the other members are these foul-tempered 12-yr-old kids who keep yelling at you, "NOOB HEALER!!18! >:c"

Should a level 53 priest go into Blackrock Depths? I have a quest there, but I debating whether I'm strong enough to heal. Right now, I'm a shadow priest, but once I hit 70, I'm going all holy.

Shoud be ok more or less if you healing but it might be hard if your party tries to slip past any trash packs(any large fire elementals hit for inane amounts without any FR).
The most recent screen shot I've got of my main char atm was going in there about lvl 56, its really a 55+ but since the new LFG system has been doing all the stuff its really quite a bit out, probably I'd head for the sunken temple about that lvl(correct me if I'm wrong here been a while since I lvled).
BRD is a monster of an instance, make sure your party have some sort of destination in mind cause its really easy to get lost in.

As for the death knight class the FAQ says certain conditions need to be met before you can create one, sounds like a rep/item grind

The Maelstrom is the gigantic rift that was created when the Well of Eternity collapsed at the Sundering of the World.

From the Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos manual:

As the aftershocks from the Well of Eternity's implosion rattled the bones of the world, the seas rushed in to fill the gaping wound left in the earth. Nearly eighty percent of Kalimdor's landmass had been blasted apart, leaving only a handful of separate continents surrounding the new, raging sea. At the center of the new sea, where the Well of Eternity once stood, was a tumultuous storm of tidal fury and chaotic energies. This terrible scar, known as the Maelstrom, would never cease its furious spinning. It would remain a constant reminder of the terrible catastrophe... and the Utopian era that had been lost forever.

As things currently stand, the Maelstrom is a large storm only viewable in World of Warcraft on the world map, where it sits between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. I played World of Warcraft for about 9 months. Was pretty hooked with it once I started, but luckely I came to my senses, realising that paying 30€ for a Pre-Paid Card is way too much for my liking. But it is a good game. If you got the money over, buy it and play it.

Succubus is for PvP or Crowd control only (seduction).

Use your Voidwalker, he's meant to take damage and will usually keep most of the aggro. (just make sure to keep him up to date with his skills.)

A quick question for those of you that still play WoW. Please try to answer generally and personally. Take into account that so many similar games are free to play or at least not as expensive.
Why do you choose to play this perticular game over all the other MMORPG in the world?

I don't know if I qualify to answer this since I quit a few months ago, but I will anyway.

I chose to play because it was fun. Plain and simple. To me, that's worth $15 a month.

There's something for everyone to do, whether you like to solo or raid (10-40 people). The customer support was top notch in my experience. I haven't heard of any free game that can offer that (let alone in english).

Content is always changing and getting better. The level grind wasn't too painful and you could easily have several capped characters in high end gear, and thus see the game from different perspectives. Try doing that in FFXI without your head asploding.

I think it's a bit of a mystery to everyone why anyone really "chooses" to play WoW over another game. The only reason I started was because my FFXI friends all switched to it. The reason I stayed was because I had a ton of fun playing it and felt like I was actually getting somewhere when I did.

I'm mostly comparing to FFXI here, but that's kinda the bulk of my experience with MMOs. If you want to compare it with a free MMO (Rappelz, FlyFF, SotNW:GE, etc) it's just not the same. Everything is different, from the community right down to how you feel when you finally gain that level or get that item.

...that and peer pressure. Everyone else did it, so I had to too. ;)

It's kind of the opposite from what you nay sayers are thinking. It costs so much because a lot of people play it. And why not? It has one of the largest detailed 3d environments. It provides different levels of gameplay and different ways of gameplay. It expands continually and has it's own language. Maplestory compared to WoW... is nothing? I mean the price you pay for the things you buy on maple... isn't that just as much a waste of time? =/ It also has the highest subscription numbers despite that other game companies don't delete inactive accounts. It also advertises more than most other mmorpgs. Though FF XI still tries... WoW covers the rest of the world. Say what you want, but if it was free, and it is with a 10 day trial and a series of referrals, you'd play it. You know you can expect more in the future if not from the company, then atleast the players modding the game. The support for malicious mod control is also quite high =3

Pikachu: Use your talents in Demonology and you can get the Felhunter by level 40. It kicks the pants(or lack thereof) off the Succubus. Void still holds mobs better, but the Paranoia buff can be useful.

Well yes, but if they're true addicts, they'll hit 80 at an increasing rate, as they memorize all the Northrend quests. Then they will return to reality until the next expansion comes out, however long that will take.

To clarify,

There are more than 10 people in these videos because they are from an older 40-man version of Naxxramas from level 60.

Naxxramas was revamped for Wrath of the Lich King and moved to Northrend, it's gear drops have been upgraded and some encounters have been changed.

Naxxramas is now a Normal Mode 10-man instance, or a 25-man Heroic instance.

I'd be more worried about Grobbulus (http://www.wowwiki.com/Grobbulus) If people cannot put the mutating injection in the right place or they drop it on other folks such as the healers its all over.

That and the attitude of folks on my server is annoying, in one raid lockout we got possibly 30 PUGed people saved to 10 man Naxx because they either wanted the run to go so smooth they didn't have to do any work or they couldn't wait for someone else to learn an encounter
