I recently saw (after being botherd about it all month) Masamune Shirows Dominion Tank Police and New Dominion Tank Police.

I was reluctant to at first, because I heard that his characters weren't always all that strong, and that there was pointless fan service in his work. But after I saw DTP, I loved it, and I couldn't remember the last time I laughed so much. I don't know why I was told that his characters were weak, because tey all seemed pretty well defined to me.

I've read the Appleseed manga, which I thought was pretty good...but I just wanted to know (as a born again Shirow fan), if there are any others around here. And if so, are there any particular titles that I should seek?

Erm, if you've read the Appleseed manga, I heavily recommend that you *don't* watch the film (the 1980s one). It's kind of boring, and doesn't do it justice. But there's gonna be a new version, so yeah.

Oh yeah, I heard about that (It'll probably be 2050A.D by the time it makes it's way over here though anyway >.<)

But DTP seemed pretty aged...isn't it from about 1990 or something? Haha, sometimes the old stuff really is better though...and I can't believe i'm about to drift off topic in my own thread.

Anyway, I'll take your advice into consideration...but you have me kind of curious now. After all, I wasn't expecting much from DTP at first either....hmm.....maybe having low expectations is the key to his anime? But in anycase, you can't fault his manga. The art is simply amazing.

I mean, look at Ghost in the Shell (which I just remembered is based on his manga). I had to watch it about 10 times before I understood it, but at least the animation was specatular...haha, in fact, the great art is what made me watch it so many times. ^_^;;
