Hey guys, I've been working on an arrangement of Dr Robotnik's theme from Sonic The Hedgehog 2. It's for a small band though, not a full concert band. I'm going to be working with a small group of musicians to get a better feel of it. I might record it so you guys can see.

While working on this arrangement, I got the idea to do a few projects. I'm going to be doing arrangements and transcriptions of various themes from the Sonic The Hedgehog games. But only the ones for SEGA Genesis, as they had the best music in them. I will do medleys, and singles. First I'm going to finish up what I'm currently working on, and then I will either do a Robotnik medley, or maybe a single. Most likely a single first.

I do not want help with this project. I'm just making a new thread so you guys can follow my work directly and tell me what you think.

PLEASE GIVE ME FEEDBACK!! I would like lots of feedback for this project please. It might take a while, and this could help keep me going.

Eventually, if all goes as planned, I will have every theme from the old Genesis Sonic The Hedgehog games arranged. How will you all feel about that? (Considering that there is currently no Sonic The Hedgehog sheet music on Ichigos)

Haha, I'm a Sonic fan. You can find a really good Sonic sheet from this page http://www.gamemusicthemes.com
Click on Sega Genesis and find the Sonic 2 boss song. It's written for piano, but it has most of the voices which appear on the original.
You also can look for MIDIS here http://www.vgmusic.com/. It has a lot of Sonic midis.

It's a shame, I wanted to do something like that after finish with Fairy Tail. You've been faster. xD I know very well most of Sonic soundtrack, so if you need more help, ask ^^

I already did Sonic 2's boss theme for a small band. I'm putting it in a medley. And vgmusic is where I've been getting some of the MIDI's. XD

If you want to help that badly I'd appreciate it. From what I've seen your good at all this. I just don't want any random person doing these with me as I want them to maintain some quality. I want people who know what they are doing and not newbs. So if you want to help, go for it!

I want to do it, I haven't have enough time. I'll try with some, and I will show you. If you don't like them, say me and make the yours ^^.

I think you want to start with the most popular Sonic songs, like Green Hill, Casino Night or Chemical Plant. I want to do the Sonic 3's Special Stage music. I love it *-*
If there some you don't want to do, say also. If I like it I'll do that.

Really take a look to the sheets in gamemusicthemes, they're one of my favorites.
Thanks!

I mostly want to do my favorite themes and so on. It doesn't matter to me if they are popular or not. Although the three you named are some of my favorites... XD

Ok, I'll make sure to take a look

A little update on this project. On Friday I met up with my old band teacher from middle school. We sat down and took a look at what I had so far for my medley. It was arranged in the key of A, so he changed it to Bb to make it easier for the musicians. Now I'm going to learn how to change the key of songs in MuseScore to prevent this from happening again (I've never had this problem before).

Right now I have the score and the individual parts printed out. My job now is to pick out a small group of musicians who I think are good enough. Then, me and those musicians will go back over to my old middle school this Friday to play this and see how it goes. Oh, and we might do some recording too.

As a way to help speed up this project a little, would anybody be willing to supply me with good MIDI files of the various Sonic The Hedgehog themes? I have access to MIDI versions of most of the themes, but they're too complicated and usually all buggy. Would anybody be willing to go ahead and supply me with some good MIDIS that will make this easier on me and speed this up?

Just letting you guys know that I have not given up on this project yet. I'm still working on that medley. Well, the medley is actually finished for the most part, I'm just testing it with actual instruments first. I was supposed to do this last Friday, but some complications arose. This Friday I shall get it done.

It's been quite a while since I've posted any updates about this project. First of ALL, I'd like the say that THIS PROJECT IS NOT DEAD!! I've just been busy is all. Anyways, the medley is done. I'll upload it whenever somebod wants it. I haven't heard actual muisicians play it at all yet, so if anybody would be willing to do that for me, it would be much appreciated. I'd rather here real musicians than those computer sounding MIDI's. Ugh, they just urk me... >.< So, would anybody like me to upload the arrangement?

Secondly, I'd like to say that whoever wants to help me with thias project is free to do so. I wanted it to be just me, or a couple people, but I've realized that it's just too much work. I would appreciate any help that can be offered. Even if it's just good MIDI files.

Also, I'm about to get started working on the Planet Whisp theme real soon. I'm going to go ahead and get the Piano portion finished, and a friend of mine is going to be figuring out the Bass part for me. After that's done, I'll upload that too.

I've been doing a little work figuring out Star Light Zone's theme by ear in my Music Theory class. I may or may not upload what I have so far. I'll most likely try and get more of it done, but I might also just trash it. I don't know yet.

I have a little bit of the Green Hill Zone theme figured out for Piano, and a tad bit of it figured out on Alto Sax and Marimba. I'll probably be taking what I have for Piano and uploading that. If anybody wants the melody for other instruments, I could easily just transpose it for them.

Asfor this whole project, I'm debating as to whether we should do these themes as single pieces, or as medleys. I guess either one could work depending on the theme.
