MAKE ME DANCE!
ICHIGO'S FORUMS CONTEST
__________________________________________

Ichigo's is bringing to you "MAKE ME DANCE", a music composition contest to spark this year! We are seeking a composer capable of making our community to want to get out of the chairs and dance!

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Research the dance music of any culture that you are interested, and compose an original piece based of their rhythm. It can be anything from old style to modern style. Anything that feels danceable is welcome (e.g. waltz, cha-cha-cha, samba, gavotte, ragtime, minuet, merengue, mazurka, vallenato, dubstep, techno, house, etc). You are not restricted to incorporate just one genre, have fun blending various styles if you want. We would like to highlight that you are also free to experiment and come up with something trully unique if you do not want to research or base your music in existant styles.

RULES

1. Only one entry per member.
2. Submissions may not exceed the 4min and not be less than 1min and 30secs.
3. Only original compositions are accepted.
4. Entries will be posted in this thread.
5. You are allowed to edit your composition after you have posted it. Just please remove the old version.
6. Editing composition will not be allowed after AUGUST, 5.
7. Make us dance with your music.

VOTING

Voting will be public by our community.

WINNER

Winner will form part of Ichigo's Hall of Fame and will have his composition uploadead in our Youtube channel with any additional information the winner desire to share (e.g. link to his own channel, website, bio, etc).

Thanks for making a competition on something that I'm in the mood to write. <3

Might we be able to extend the maximum to at least 5 minutes, though? 3 minutes seems to be much too short for a piece to be limited to (especially in the spirit of dance music).

I extended it to 4min, Milchh.

Equisix, I hope you get a chance to submit that waltz. :)

Have fun everybody!

Greetings,
I was not able to post my .mp3, mmmm. I do not see that as an option on this blog.
I will provide you a link to the song for the competition piece.

My main concern is genre bias but It doesn't really matter for me since this is all for fun within Ichigo's community

Thank you. I've forgotten I've had to write a paper the last couple of weeks.

I'll try to still write something this week!

This contest is open to anything that sounds danceable. If it makes you feel to dance, then you are in the right track. :)

Well... this may seem like a random time, but I have a song I want to enter. I think you'll find some parts very danceable. By danceable I mean bobbing your head.:D

It's been a while since I've posted anything...

The ending is ridiculously rushed (I'll probably redo it) and it still needs some finishing touches. :heh:

I really apologise for the sounds. Half the instruments seem to play as a celeste on my computer... I'll try to replace it if I have time. - Opening it with sibelius 6 gives it the right sounds, if you can do that.
