Ok, about a week ago, I was diddling around with finale, and accidentally came up with an intro I am very happy with. The bad part is that I have no idea how to continue it. I've tried every little thing that came into my head, with no luck...
Do any of you guys have any tips on coming up with melodies? I have several that I've come up with that don't fit the bill, so any help would be Great!

I had a chat about this sort of thing with my composition lecturer last year. He said that he does things like that as an exercise. Like he'll write a good intro, he'll write a random melody, a series of chords, whatever. Then he keeps them all in a box as sketch type things so that if he's ever at a loose end he has old stuff he's done to fish through for inspiration.
You don't have to perfect and finish everything you begin to write. Just don't throw it away because you may find a use for it later.

Yeah, I'm going to drop it for right now... It isn't fitting in with anything, but I'll find a use for it sooner or later.
